Publisher's summary

The third in a tasty series, Murder Lo Mein by Vivien Chien is a delight!

Everyone agrees that the food at Ho-Lee Noodle House is delicious - unless it happens to be deadly.

Lana Lee’s stake in her family’s Chinese restaurant is higher than ever now that she’s been made manager. So when she enters Ho-Lee into Cleveland’s Best Noodle Contest, Lana makes it her business to win - at all costs. But when a local food critic receives a threatening note in a fortune cookie and is later found dead, face-down in a bowl of lo mein, all bets are off....

Now, along with her sweet-and-sour boyfriend Detective Adam Trudeau, Lana decides to take matters into her own hands and dig into the lives of everyone involved in the contest. But when she receives an ill-fated fortune, Lana realizes that in order to save the reputation of her restaurant, she needs to save herself first....

GOOD READ

I enjoyed this book. Granted, the Lana's investigation got a little tiring, and I would have liked to see Adam investigating more, but it still was fun. We also got some insight into more characters and relationships. I look forward to more.

Entertaining, fun and intriguing !

I love the authors writing style.1st person narrative, multifaceted characters, well planned plots. The author keeps me guessing whodunnit until the last few pages and I line that because I enjoy keeping my interest until the end. I also appreciate that the characters have qualities of emotional honesty, humility, compassion (and of course the bd guys are super evil, and still human with their failings). I L O V E Chien’s stories. The food descriptions inspired me to order takeout Chinese and now I want to order dishes from every Asian restaurant in town and learn the history and flavors to find my favorite dishes and chefs.
The romance in the books is sweet and real to life. I like that too. All of her characters are relatable. In fact if VivianChien ever wrote a memoir I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it! Or of she has books she recommends, the same applies. I am so grateful she writes these stories!! 🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍 I bought them all. Though it appears not all of them are on Audible. I hope Audible changes that asap!

I keep trying with this series...

but these books are too boring and long. The main character is a real nosy and annoying person. She is too unrealistic. In real life this person would not get any questions answered because she is too nosy even for an amateur detective.
