Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Lisa Renee Jones returns with the second book in her electrifying series featuring Lilah Love, an FBI profiler who doesn’t fight her dark side - she embraces it.

It’s Lilah Love’s job to inhabit a killer’s mind. The unapologetically tough FBI profiler is very comfortable there. But her latest case is making her head spin. It’s a string of brutal assassinations carried out across the country, each tied to a mysterious tattoo. Body by body, she’s followed the clues all the way back to her hometown. And every step of the way, the killer has been following her.

Beneath the glamour of the privileged Hamptons community is a secret long buried but never forgotten. It’s bigger than Lilah. It’s powerful enough to escape the reach of the FBI. And it’s more personal than anyone can imagine. Because it’s hiding in Lilah’s own past. To fight it, she’s forced to turn to her lethally tempting ex, Kane Mendez. He’s an expert at bringing out Lilah’s darkest impulses. If she plans to survive, she’s going to need them.

better than the first one

I really struggled to listen to the first book. It was very much not for me, it was disappointing. I honestly don't know what made me decide to download the second. That being said, this book was a little easier to follow. I still found my mind drifting and trying to figure out what was going on, but I felt like even when I missed parts I could just continue to listen without rewinding it. This book also had a much better ending unlike the abrupt ending of the first.

Decent story

Decent story, but beware - despite being a character trait, the profanity is unnecessarily over the top, n I'm no prude by any means. Both books end abruptly with no segue to the next. Still, I'm looking forward to the next one.

Will 'Murder Girl' work her magic in her hometown?

This book picks up where Murder Notes left off, with FBI profiler, Lilah Love, searching for a killer, even though her brother, the police chief, believes that the case is closed. While book 1 was riveting, this one was a bit slower and took some determination to get through. Lilah seemed to be all over the place and her constant antagonising of everyone became a bit much. Did not really feel the chemistry between her and her ex. The discovery of the people behind the murders was a bit anticlimactic.
Don't get me wrong, overall, the story was good, just did not see the need for two books when the flow may have been better in one.

This Audio version is a delight !

Ok! I had a truly tough time getting thru the print copy of this book! The Audible! Brilliant! It added life and charisma to the character!

I cannot wait to get the next books in this series! You will not be able to guess the killer and when you think Junior is gone.. they aren’t!

I’m Addicted!!!

I love Lilah Love, what a great personality! Finally a female lead character who takes no sh*t, has flaws and owns them and admits to loving the bad boy...and hating it. Oh and mix in some twisted plots and action and boom.

Loved the book

5 star review of Murder Girl (Lilah Love #2) by Lisa Renee Jones

Two of my favourite types of reads together romance (although there is not a lot of this in Murder Notes) and murder mystery, what more could I ask for? I’m not to sure where to start with this review as I do not want to give any spoilers away.
Murder Girl picks up from where Murder Notes ended so if you haven’t read book one, stop what you are doing and read Murder Notes first otherwise you will not have the background to read Murder Girl.
I was invested in this book from the first page. I could not put it down, I kept saying just one more chapter I have to know what happens so a sleepless night was had, but oh what a story.
Lilah Love is an FBI profiler and is used to dealing with the seedier side of life. When a string of murders takes Lilah back to her home town, her past rises up to smack her right in the face. Is this the work of a serial killer or an assassin? Will her haunted and dark past be brought to light?
The fact that she really cannot trust anyone including her family and Kane the only man she has truly loved makes for one heck of a crazy ride.
The writing was just as intense and as strong as book one and had me on the edge of my seat. There were so many plots twists that I was kept guessing and I needed to concentrate to ensure I didn’t loose track and to me that is the sign of a great book that has drawn you right in to the storyline.
The intrigue, suspense, danger and secrets had me riveted from the first chapter until the last, I was absolutely hooked and feel that this is one of the best examples of romantic suspense I have read in a long time.
I cannot wait to see where Ms.Jones takes us next on this amazing journey that is Lilah Love.
