Publisher's Summary

Can love be written when Tyler and Liz are on different pages?

After Liz Montgomery dumped "Mr. Perfect" four days before their wedding, she built herself a new happily ever after - aka workaholic. Between grad school, a demanding job, and helping with Happy Moments Charity events, she has determined not to let relationships stand in the way of her dreams again. But one wrong step throws her unwittingly into the arms of a stranger who could threaten her plans.

New York Times best-selling author Tyler Lakewood is in town to complete one job: interview family and friends for NFL star Kyle Montgomery's biography. When an opportunity to help Liz with Kyle's charity events turns the page of his plans, he goes to great lengths to ensure Liz sees him as Mr. Right. While fighting her mounting attraction for Tyler, Liz accepts Tyler's help. Soon, she can't deny he has already written on the pages of her heart. When plans for the annual charity ball unravel, she must decide whether to close the book forever or let him write the happily-ever-after ending she's always dreamed of.

Mr. Write is book one in the sweet, contemporary romance series, Sundaes for Breakfast.

Super cute!

I've had my eye on this book and series for a while now...since the print book came out. I always wondered what the Sundaes for Breakfast referenced. And now I know! I love it! It was a tradition between the main character and her roommates. While listening to this and the scenes with her roommates, it brought back lots of fun memories and traditions that I had with my roomies. Those were great times and I'm grateful for their friendship. I'm looking forward to the other books in this series so I can see how the roommates stories unfold.

This story had a fun beginning and it just kept going from there. Liz and Tyler's meeting was cute and funny and very embarrassing. But I loved it! And I loved how the author tied it into the story later on.

Liz has a lot on her plate and she loves her family a lot that she supports them in many different ways. Even when it means putting aside a dream she's held onto and is so close to achieving.

Tyler was a great character and I loved how he was able to blend right in with Liz's family. There are some ups and downs in Tyler and Liz's story but I loved how they kept moving forward and working through those ups and downs.

Lots of fun scenes. Some scenes that were sad and had you aching for the characters. But all in all, a fun read/listen. Especially for football fans and writing fans.

Content: Clean.

Happy Listening!!!

Another winner!

I loved this book! I unintentionally read the 2nd book in the series first- Camera Wars (also loved!), but it didn't matter at the time. I wasn't missing anything, however, maybe it would have been even better to have known the backstory of the original couple. Anyway, this was a very sweet romance. It kept me interested until the end and was a quick read, mostly because I couldn't stop listening!! I have heard there is going to be a 3rd book in the series narrated, the Companion, and can't wait!! (I also just noticed there is a 0.5 book, Perfect Catch, that I plan to check to see if it too has been narrated...)

This is my 3rd book I have listened to that was read by this narrator, Stacey Glemboski. I just love her sweet voice, her intonations, everything! She has also somehow even made me able to like her male voice, not sounding fake or pushed lower. You know the narrator is good when you search for your next book based on the narrator alone!

I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

What a great recommendation!

After finding Stacey Glemboski as a wonderful narrator, I was recommended to listen to this story, and I am so glad that I did! I love this story, it gives a real look a family dynamics and love. Liz work for the Happy Moments Foundation, founded by her football player brother and his wife. She is going to school but with work and school has put her dreams and ambitions on hold to help out and cheer her other brothers on as they play the game. When Tyler comes to write her brother's autobiography, sparks are flying between them and he tells her the sacrifice she has made! I loved this story, the two are sweet together, though at times, I was frustrated with their communication. I truly felt Liz's plight. I know it's hard to say no, especially when it's family, and you want to do what's best for them. Chelsea Hale truly brought the best out of Liz as the story went on, and showed her the path to her own happiness. But will that path include Tyler? Give it a listen and you will see!

Stacey Glemboski is a wonderful storyteller! This is my third narration by her, and every time, it's an enjoyable listen. Her pace and voices are impeccable and make the story come to life. I will be looking for more books by her in the future.

Sweet romance

This story is beautifully narrated, the character voices are clear and convincing. The pace and tone of the narration are a great match for the emotions and activities of the story.

The story is not quite what I was expecting, it's like a historical romance that's written in the modern era. The romance is very clean and chaste and there's nothing in the book that give a reason for that.

That said the romance is quite sweet, the main characters had a strong connection and the writing is well done. There were some humorous moments that made me laugh and some sad bits that made me cry, it was easy to connect with emotionally and was easy to listen to. A good book for a lazy afternoon.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

He's Mr. Write, is she his Miss Right?

I've been listening to a number of romantic suspense and historical romance audiobooks lately. I needed a break and was in the mood for something different. So, when scrolling through my collection I came across Mr. Write which, as a contemporary romance, fit the bill for 'different'. Plus it's always nice to check out a new-to-me author.

The first book in Chelsea Hale's Sundaes For Breakfast series is a truly sweet romance. With its romantic ups and downs it reminded me much of a Hallmark movie, but with a strong faith element. I liked both Liz and Tyler, though, at times I just wanted to shake them both. I don't come from a sports-minded background so I appreciated that the sports element, Liz's family is big into football etc., while present, is not the driving force of the story.

As previously mentioned, I listened to the audiobook of Mr. Write. I felt the narrator was a good match for Chelsea Hale's characters and the sound quality was good. So, if you are in the mood for a sweet contemporary romance you should check out the first Sundaes For Breakfast title...

Cute story, well narrated

Story: 3.5 stars

This was a cute story, but I just didn't connect with Liz. Her reactions to set-backs or disappointments were so over-the-top and dramatic. I suppose it fit her character, but it kept me from relating to her very well. Tyler was easier to connect with, although why he kept putting off asking her out, expressing his feelings, etc. was frustrating to me as a listener.

The sacrificing one's own dreams to help family was admirable, though, and helped me like Liz a lot more...

Narration: 4.5 stars

Very well narrated! Ms. Glemboski had good expression and good male voices. Good cadence and speed (doesn't read too slowly...) I'd happily listen to her again!

Fun, friends and HEA

I really enjoyed this sweet, clean listen. Well developed characters full of fun and wit. I loved how Liz and Tyler met and the Sundaes for Breakfast bonding time between friends.

The narrator did a good job with the story.

A sweet and clean contemporary read

I quite enjoyed this story. More so than I originally expected to actually. I enjoyed the character development of the two key characters and their interactions with each other. The growth that they each undergo in their relationships with their family, friends and each other. It also had a nice balance of lighthearted fun along with serious moments. Overall a sweet and clean contemporary read.

Sweet, feel-good romance

I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. It is a good example of light, feel-good, contemporary escapism.

Master degree student Liz Montgomery is the perpetual cheerleader for her American football centred family. She has two of her brothers and her father committed to the sport and all of them committed to the family. And while it is wonderful to be a part of a connected supportive family, including Liz running her NFL star brother's charity, her dreams and desires are often sidelined. In fact she is insecure if she is wanted for herself or for her family connection.

Then there is successful fantasy author Tyler Lakewood who has agreed to write Liz's brother's biography. There is instant chemistry between Liz and Tyler but a lot of resistance as they struggle through their issues and commitments.

This is a clean story with a generous portion of angst, emotion, humour and tension written into the plot. Throw in a few interfering characters and Liz's rommates' habit of sharing stories over sundaes (at breakfast), and the story is fairly busy with detail.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
