I never know what to think. This takes me right back to Good Morning Vietnam. I came up at the time of the Vietnam War, late 60s - early 70s. Lots of my friends were drafted. I still feel such palpable guilt over it, I can’t even go to get my nails done at one of the hundreds of salons that all seem to be run by Vietnamese people, because I wonder the whole time if the person working on my feet really hates Americans and emigrated only because it was so much easier here to make money , or if they are young enough that they just don’t care about the past. Very few speak English so it is very hard to know what to say. I just want to say I’m sorry.

Sad.

An uncomfortable look at a participant in mass murder attempting to profit from his unsavory past. Bizarre yet so thoroughly human.
