Every woman wants to be Elizabeth Bennet Darcy - beautiful, gracious, universally admired, strong, daring and outspoken - a thoroughly modern woman in crinolines.
And every woman will fall madly in love with Mr. Darcy - tall, dark and handsome, a nobleman and a heartthrob whose virility is matched only by his utter devotion to his wife.
Their passion is consuming and idyllic - essentially, they can’t keep their hands off each other - through a sweeping tale of adventure and misadventure, human folly and numerous mysteries of parentage.
Hold on to your bonnets! This sexy, epic, hilarious, poignant, and romantic sequel to Pride and Prejudice goes far beyond Jane Austen.

Best follow up book I've read!

The author tried to put in everything. The story would have been better at 4 or 5 hours.

There is suspense, love, the acts of making love (sometimes in detail), drama, murder, extreme sadness, betrayal, trust, kindness, deceit, a depth of character development, and a revealing of some characters who never change.
Be ready for an emotional ride. Time flew by with this book, and I found myself staying up at all hours because I couldn’t put it down. Some of this book is heartbreaking, but so real for the time period.
I found myself laughing out loud at many points. The author apparently researched deeply into the period, and I don’t think she ever repeated a word for Darcy’s “manhood”. Let’s just say that Darcy has met his match with Elizabeth. Their marriage is certainly one of mutual affection. To say the least.
For all of the readers/listeners who hope for some Lady Catherine comeuppance. Look no further. And it’s too good not to spoil, because I think this part might just encourage you to use a credit: Lady C gets her hat shot in two, right on top of her head, by Elizabeth. I won’t say the circumstances. But… get this audible.
Lydia cracks me up with her unapologetic views on sex, empowerment, and how she knows her husband’s next step before he even makes it. Oh, and Wickham is even more of an evil man than I thought. What he does to a new character we meet and fall in love with…well I am just heartbroken here.
On a lighter note, the pure kindness of Jane is explored even more. Jane is so selfless. We really get a chance to know Georgiana, and her strength of character development is unparalleled.
I could go on. And I really want to. But let me pivot to narration. The narration is excellent. You forget there IS narration. The story just comes alive. The words shine through. I listened in 1.2 mode, where the words are normal, and just a tinge faster.
When I googled this book, I learned the author wrote this book as her first. It’s the only one in a series of three that made it to Audible. There are two more books in published form, in her 3-part series of life after the weddings. I have no idea why the other two weren’t narrated and on audible. I would use credits for those as well. That is my only complaint. I want more. But, I’m going to have to suffer (lol) by actually reading them myself.
This book is THAT good! I highly recommend for any P&P fan.
A “Must Listen” for P&P fans

If you could sum up Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife in three words, what would they be?
Read my ImaginationWho was your favorite character and why?
Elizabeth as she is still very strong and her personality remained true to the original character.Have you listened to any of Rosalyn Landor’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
NoAny additional comments?
This may be a little more edgy compared to the original book but if you've always wondered what ever happened to Elizabeth and Darcy this book is probably one of the best that captures your imagination and makes you believe in the story. I've read quite a number of these continuation stories and this one is by far the best one. I didn't much care for Jane and Bingley's story line though, but other than that this is a great book and very entertaining.Darcy's and Elizbeth's love continued..

Would you listen to Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife again? Why?
Yes and I have! I love the interaction between Darcy and Elizabeth (HOT!). The book gave you a more in-depth look into Darcy's personality. What was one of the most memorable moments of Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife?
BOOTS! I could not believe Darcy never put two and two together. I must mention that "having sex while pregnant will scare the baby" was hilarious! Only JaneWhat about Rosalyn Landor’s performance did you like?
Yes. Very nice job.Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Both dealing with their own tragedies/depressions but was still able to find each which took their love to deeper levels.Any additional comments?
Towards the end, the story got a bit long but overall I enjoyed every minute of it. I would recommend this to anyone. (Over the age of 18)WOW!
