Motown Records: Pimps, Prostitutes, the Detroit Mafia and the Sound of Teenage America

  • Summary

  • Motown Records is one of the most successful musical industry endeavors of all time. The music and the megastars Motown produced, like Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, and the Jackson 5, defined a generation. But that success is marred by rumors – rumors that the record label and its innovative owner were controlled by the "black hand" of the white American mob. Jake is crazy talented!

This cat does his research and is a true musician who, IMO knows his shit. Great speaking voice and intense as all get-out. I’ve worked with a few Motown peeps and it all ads up, and I don’t mean to blow smoke or anything, I just feel like the cats just got it. Great storyteller who knows how to set up a combo kick punch.. I really wish him well and am trying t on spread the word to my friends and online community that this shit is SO worth listening’. You got it brother, in the words of Herbie Hancock: Just keep on doin’ it.”
