Sooo coool

I just love it! As the nonsense converge at the end to where it all begins. I think I will have to listen to it more times to get all the details.

An unnecessary continuation

This was a tremendously disappointing book. From the start it feels like Douglas Adams heart wasn't in it and the end of the book confirms it.
It is the sequel noone asked for, or at least noone should have asked for.
I advise leaving the series at So Long And Thanks For All The Fish.
Martin Freeman is a great voice actor and he can't be faulted.

Hilarious and so well read!

From beginning to end, I was hooked. It was a book I bought with the intention being I would listen in passing whilst doing other jobs but I couldn't not listen!

Martin great, story not.

This is just not really very good. Of course, Douglas Adams has written some brilliant, brilliant books but this isn’t one of them.

Martin is excellent though.

Worth a listen but sadly not DA at his best

Deeply unsatisfying. It held promise which never materiised. Too many lose ends. Too dark. Some bits were great, others not so much.

Nice story, shame about the voice.

Being a fan of the books, and having listened to the excellent Stephen Fry narrating 'The hitchhikers guide' I proceeded to purchase the entire series.
Unfortunately every other book has been narrated by Freeman, who struggles to display any interest or tempo. An array of poor accents make the listening even more difficult.
Truly a shame, as a complete miscast has spoiled what is a great series.

Probably the weakest in series

the new characters and wackiness felt unoriginal and tired vs. previous ones. its a shame that its the last one from him as the quality really drops and felt like he ran out of interesting ideas. last half was a real slog.

Freeman makes it even funnier.

I grew up reading the Hitchhiker book series. In addition to being a far out funny series, I remember being fascinated at how clever and unique the plot and script was. Decades later, I've again reacquainted my love for the novels, and the experience, kind of like a journey back in my own space/time continuum. But this time, exceeding my expectations, the magic of the novel has been brought to new comical life by Martin Freeman. Simply put: Freeman makes it even funnier. The only bad thing I can say about this audible volume is that it ended!

Douglas Adams genius storyteller

I have been listening to a few books lately, and they have been enjoyable but at times difficult to listen to.

I started this one and the magic of the read words swirled around my mind. Douglas Adams had a very good understanding of how stories sound good, probably from writing so much for radio and TV. His books are just an enormous pleasure to listen to.

We humans where so lucky to have had his artistic genius at all.

Not too bad

This instalment was better than the last two. Still could have done without the swearing.
