A Warhammer 40,000 Adepta Sororitas Audiobook

Morvenn Vahl is the Abbess Sanctorum and a High Lord of Terra, a warrior born and a faithful daughter of the Emperor. Yet she is only mortal, performing no miracles, untouched by divinity, and though she was chosen not by the Master of Mankind but by his living thralls, the faith is hers to command and to protect.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

It’s a story of doubt and faith. It’s a story of the light of the God-Emperor against the darkness of the Night Lords. Can Morvenn Vahl lead the faithful to triumph, or will Ophelia VII fall to the traitors?

THE STORY

When a monster from myth threatens the cardinal world of Ophelia VII, Morvenn Vahl defies the Senatorum Imperialis and heads to the planet's defence. There, she finds a world in terror – the warlord Kol Rakhul, known as the Death of Saints, has come for the faithful and, with his Heldrake and a host of Night Lords at his back, plans to enshroud the world in flame and blood.

This is a reckoning. A holy world is being defiled, and in its defence, Morvenn Vahl must wield an army of Living Saints to stand a hope of survival, let alone victory.

Lo que los oyentes dicen sobre Morvenn Vahl: Spear Of Faith

Con calificación alta para:

The Audiobook's Story Revolves Around The Sisters Of Battle, Particularly Morvenn Vahl, And Their Conflict With The Night Lords Chaos Space Marines. While The Narration And Portrayal Of The Antagonist Are Praised, The Overall Storyline, Combat Scenes, And Political Elements Are Criticized As Weak, Bland, And Implausible. The Book Provides A Nuanced Perspective On Chaos Worshipers But Lacks Character Development For Morvenn Vahl. The Conclusion Is Considered Satisfying With An Unorthodox Twist, But The Story's Implausibility And Lack Of Character Growth Are Noted As Major Drawbacks.

Amazing Battle Sisters vs Nught Lords story

Emma Gregory did an absolutely amazing job narrating this story. Having the voice actress who did the amazing Minthara from Baldur's Gate 3 made this story a 10/10, she did so well as both the Sisters of Battle and the Night Lords.

Morvenn Vahl and The Death of Saints were awesome characters.

Its a ok book if you dont know what 40k is, but if your a fan of 40k you will hate this book.

To start I would say that while the main story of Morvenn Vahl is quite bad and has a lot of issues, the sections for the Death of Saints and Leafy are quite good and show a more nuanced perspective as to how Chaos worshipers think than most books do. As for the main story it has several main issues, the first and most important is that the combat is bad and bland. The Night Lords who are known for their stealth and agility are less agile than the Black Templars who are an Imperial Fist Successor, the guys known for their fortifications and stalwartness, which just doesn't work and makes all the scenes where the Black Templars talk about delft dodging a hail of bolter fire like its in slow motion just make the Night Lords look pathetic after you read about the 17th one get exploded by bolter fire. Then there is the Hellrake and the Thunderhawks which is just such a bad fight. It reads more like two cocky hunters getting eaten by a wolf than an actual fight. The entire time you're reading about the bolter fire and lascannons tearing the Helldrake apart and you just sit there thinking "Oh well as soon as one of them fires the Turbolaser the Helldrake is dead." and it just never happens, i'm pretty sure the writer entirely forgot about the Turbolasers on the Thunderhawks. Then there is the fight with the Venomcrawler which is just horrendous. The entire time I was reading the fight I had no clue what was happening because the writer has no clue what the Vemomcrawler is. As soon as it was brought up I was excited because I thought "Oh hey neat it's deamon time." Only to be told that no this Venomcrawler isn't the super cool one that devours people's souls to create a portal to hell, it is in fact just an artillery piece. They took one of the coolest Deamon Engines and just made it into a glorified Basilisk and then they didn't even explain that they changed it so the entire time you read about it you are just scratching your head wondering why they are worried about a pair of autocannons knocking down their void shields which can survive Titan level firepower only to read the fight and realize that this Venomcrawler is actually not a hell portal, it is now way bigger and its autocannons have been replaced by Titan level weapons. Then there is the final fight and it's just terrible and shows the author has no idea what they are talking about. The Sisters of Battle wear a smaller version of the armor the Space Marines, which can survive around eight bolt rounds before it loses its integrity which should mean that Sister of Battle armor should be able to survive at least three or four rounds right? No apparently not it takes one bolter round to the chest to kill a Sister of Battle, not a heavy bolter just a regular bolt round. You could have just shot in the head and it would have worked, but no you had to do it in the chest and make Sister of Battle armor look useless. And even worse than that is when Morvenn Vahl is shot in the chest by a bolt round while wearing her Purgator Mirabilis she breaks several ribs. The chest armor of a standard Paragon warsuit is thicker and tougher than Space Marine power armor and your telling me that the special Mastercrafted Paragon Warsuit she wears is so pathetically weak that a couple of bolt rounds to the chest, the most heavily armored area of the Warsuit, would kill her. This book makes both the Sisters of Battle and the Night Lords look like pathetic morons, and honestly even the Black Templars don't come out looking that smart either. Then there is the space combat and let's start with the fact that the Night Lord's ship doesn't exist. It's not an actual class of ship and its existence doesn't make sense since Night Lords don't use Strike Cruisers. Strike Cruisers are unique to Space Marines because they are designed to be under gunned and under powered because they are meant to be glorified transports, not actually warships. So not only is the class of ship not real, but if it was the Night Lords wouldn't use it. And even then they shouldn't have won the fight, it makes no sense for them to win, they are heavily outgunned and out armored they should have been torn apart before a single Night Lord could have boarded. The Thunderhawks were outnumbered two to one by the Fury Interceptors, each of which were more than double the size of a Thunderhawk, were 50% faster and had more guns than a Thunderhawk. The entire time I was listening to them talk about how hopeless the battle was. I was so confused because nothing they said made sense. This battle was like if a Roman Trireme beat an Aircraft Carrier. And then there are the politics which i normally love in 40k books, but jesus christ this was so bad. I don't think I have ever read anything as dumb as the politics in this book. I had more written, but I reached word count, just know that the Death of Saints trying to invade Terra would be like a single ant trying to take over America.

Sisters and Nightlords written equally great!

Fantastic narration and a story where I almost felt like the villain was more of the main character. But it made the story more compelling overall.

Ave Dominus Nox!

A fantastic and perhaps essential book for any Sisters of Battle or Night Lords fan, The story doesn't elevate itself to the heights of the best black library titles, but I have no complaints. Special accommodations to the VA who delivers an absolutely AMAZING Performance.

A Little Slow

The story felt slow compared to some other 40k stories I like. there was a lot of time sitting with characters and going over their background and faith. I feel like sometimes they didn't do enough. GREAT VA.

More Night Lords.

I’m mostly a Night Lord’s fan, and solely listened to this for the simple fact that the primary Antagonist is a Night Lord. This book did not disappoint, as the antagonist has a great degree of character beyond just an evil person. Though not what I would call light reading, anyone familiar with the overall lore of 40k will find this a very good read.
