Historically Romance With A Werewolf Twist!

Moonstruck is a historical paranormal romance novel that will keep you on your toes till the very end. The synopsis is intriguing as well as the narrative. The world building descriptions and settings are well detailed. The writing style captures the essence of the genre perfectly. Character's are complex and well seasoned. Supporting character's are a integral part of the narrative and are well composed. Brimming with sweet moments and suspenseful ones that will tug at your heart. Trickling through the pages are tear jerker moments. With a perfect happily ever after to end it all. I would love to see this novel extended into a series as I would love to learn more about Orin and Elizabeth's families.

Narator Amanda Abeilkan's performance was impeccable. Very entertaining and sweet to listen to. Her tone and pace flows through smoothly. It had all the right feels in the right places. Her voice was age appropriate to portray Elizabeth, realisticaly brought her character and the narrative to life. She gave it her all as historical vibes were swirling through the narrative. She was the perfect choice to narrate this audiobook.

Absolutely loved the narative and narator.

Finding Courage

Elizabeth was living under her strict father’s rule until at the ball her father is hosting, she spots a dark, handsome stranger and can’t take her eyes off him. Of course it didn’t matter that she was attracted to him since her father would choose who she married. She walked away and saw that he was coming after her. He talked to her and in no time had calmed her down. She wanted to ask his name, but her father came up to her then to tell her it was time for her to go to bed. She managed to say to the stranger, “It was nice to meet you, mister …”, and he filled in the name “Vilkatas” before walking into the garden.

She went upstairs and took the pins from her hair, then realized he had told her he would be in the garden! He wanted her to come back to him! She found him and told him her name was Elizabeth, and he responded his was Orin. As they talked, someone fell out of the bushes. Noah Underwood was drunk, as he almost always was. He grabbed her wrist painfully and Orin squeezed Noah’s wrist until he let go. Noah drunkenly mumbled that he would have her soon enough since his father was negotiating for their marriage. She knew he was already with someone else and was sure that would continue even when Elizabeth married him. Orin told Noah to go sleep it off, that he would not allow the drunk to take Elizabeth. Noah told her he would make sure he didn’t hurt her, if that was what she wanted. She knew that even if she didn’t marry Noah, her father would arrange her marriage to someone else. When Orin saw the truth of that, he decided he would marry her before he let that happen. And he knew how his pack would react! There are still huge secrets to be uncovered!

Orin knows that Elizabeth is his mate. The way he treats her and makes her feel, gives her reason and courage to defy her father and choose the man she wants to marry. When Elizabeth is taken hostage by a rival pack, she is in extreme danger and will be forced to fight to survive her captivity to claim her life with Orin. Can he rescue his mate? Can they survive together and find their HEA?

I enjoyed the story and the characters who had much to overcome to be together. Even Orin’s pack wants to kill her! But the story line moves along quickly and the tension of wondering how they will overcome all of these obstacles keeps it exciting for the reader.
