Publisher's Summary

The de Vincent brothers are back - and so is the intrigue that surrounds them - in New York Times best-selling author Jennifer L. Armentrout’s sizzling new novel....

Nicolette Bresson never thought she’d return to the de Vincents’ bayou compound. It’s where her parents work, where Nikki grew up...and where she got her heart broken by Gabriel de Vincent himself. Yet here she is, filling in for her sick mother.

Avoiding Gabe should be easy, especially when so much of Nikki’s time is spent trying not to be stabbed in the back by the malicious hangers-on who frequent the mansion. But escaping memories of Gabe, much less his smoking-hot presence, is harder than expected - especially since he seems determined to be in Nikki’s space as much as possible.

Gabriel spent years beating himself up over his last encounter with Nikki. He’d wanted her then, but for reasons that were bad for both of them. Things have now changed. Gabe sees more than a girl he’s known forever; he sees a smart, talented, and heartbreakingly beautiful woman...one who’s being stalked from the shadows. Now, Gabe will do anything to keep Nikki safe - and to stop the de Vincent curse from striking again.

Hottest New Book in de Vincent Series

The de Vincent stories are getting hotter and hotter. I thought Lucian and Julia's story in Moonlight Sins was hot. Whew! Nikki and Gabe blow them out of the water. This isn't your classic romance novel. Or even just a plain second chance romance. Moonlight Seduction is much more than that.

Nikki has been in love with Gabe since she was old enough to remember. She followed him around and admired him for so long. Gabe thought of Nikki as a little sister until one night 4 years ago. But, can they move on from their mistake and become friends?

At first, Gabe tells Nikki "I don't want anything to do with you and I want you to stay the hell away from me." This doesn't last very long. Just his smile is enough to make Nikki (and me) weak in the knees. "Oh, no, the man was smiling that smile that had gotten her into trouble all those years ago, and her stupid, stupid reckless heart jumped into her chest."

Nikki is back home helping her family (Richard and Livie) who work for the de Vincents. Her mother is fighting cancer so Nikki takes on her role of housekeeper. Working for the de Vincent's oldest brother Devlin. Strange things happen around Nikki. She "falls" down the stairs. She gets the feeling that she is being watched. But, is it the haunted de Vincent house or something else? Could it be Sabrina Harrington, Devlin's fiancee? Or her creepy brother Parker? Who has cornered and threatened Nikki and her family multiple times. Can it be the de Vincent family curse? The story is just creepy enough that it could be both a person and the supernatural.

The story has a slow passionate build. At one point, Nikki tells Gabe she is going on a blind date with a man named Gerald. Gabe teases her relentlessly and even shows up at the restaurant. Things start to get HOT HOT HOT. They finally have their first kiss and its like the fourth of July. Fireworks everywhere.

So far, this has been my favorite in the series. I am really looking forward to Devlin's book. Especially, since, Jennifer has paired him with Rosie. Rosie is BFF's with Nikki. She is already hilarious. I can not wait to see how she gets under Devlin's skin.

Gabe, Gabe, Gabe. (Shakes head)

The de Vincents have always had an air about them. The intrigue. The stories. The rumors. Talks of curses. Not to mention the amount of money this old family controls. They are considered gods among men for their power, their looks, and their heritage. Everything about them screams untouchable. Inhuman. Dangerous.

Except to a little girl who grew in their shadows. Nikki was the cliche. Poor little girl following behind the rich older guy she fancied herself in love with. Desperate for attention, love, and her happily ever after. It didn't work out that way for her and she left with her tail between her legs.

Fast forward a few years and now she's back. Everything and nothing has changed. The rumors still exist. People still speculate. And even Nikki is beginning to believe the curse.

I love this series because it has this vibe that borders on paranormal because of the curse and the various unexplained activities. But at the same time, many of those acts are later explained. At first I thought the de Vincents were vampires. (Anne Rice vampires. Not the sparkly ones. They aren't. At all.) Then though I'm not a believer, I started questioning my need for voodoo magic or hexes. Clearly much more is going on in this house...

And it is. It soooooo is. Lucian's story was a lot to take in. But wow, this rollercoaster is a whole new ride. Gabe's story has a whopper of a reveal. It has a history you wouldn't expect. It is a whiskey neat and keep them coming kind of story. Unrequited love, a stage 5 clinger, and a undefined...something will all keep you whirling through this story is sheer disbelief, shock, and of course your guard will be up...Until you fall hard and fast for the middle de Vincent brother. It was nice knowing you!

I cannot wait to watch Dev crumble. I know. I'm assuming a lot because this is Dev but the bigger they are the harder they fall right!?!
Moonlight Scandals release is just around the corner.

Doormat syndrome

The main character was really weak. She was a doormat and let the male main character verbally abuse her, but still came back for more. A gluten for punishment. She even thought to herself at one point that she was being a doormat, "to her heart," like that made it any better. I could have really liked this book and at first I did, but the female main character was so weak. Ugh! She made the story just, Ugh! The best quality to the story was the mystery. Is the family cursed or is there something else going on?

Holy Hotness!

I actually didn’t think that I would like anybody better than Lucian and Julia’s story, but I was wrong. I loved Gabe. I actually liked him in the other book when he rescued Julia from falling in the shower and how he teased her and his brother. It was nice to learn more about him. I really liked Nikki and her loyalty to the brothers and their family. I liked how she stood her ground. Some of the wild love scenes made me blush, but wished I had someone like Gabe in my life. I know these books are fantasy, but it would be really nice if it happened in true life as well. Ha ha.

It’s nice that they offered the first two books for free. I wished they would do the same with the third story but I’m going to use one of my credits for that. I’m beginning to love Jennifer’s books. Either she has a wild imagination or an incredible sexual love life. 😂

Erin and Joe both did such a great job narrating the book. I enjoyed how they both brought the characters alive, just like the two other narrators did in the first one.

I definitely would recommend this book but only for older young adults. It’s a little intense at times. It did leave some unanswered questions, but since most of it had to do with Dev’s life, I am hoping that the answers will come in the third book.

Slow and kinda boring

Not much action. Main character is weak. Got better toward the end. Narration was fine.
