TSTL Heroine

I had no problem with the narration. I enjoyed all of the characters as well as the world the author created. However, I couldn't stomach the lead character. She was weak, immature and not very bright. I will not be reading the next book.

Narrator

Terrible Scottish accent! Otherwise it was a pretty good performance. I love audio books with accents but this really left me wanting.

Monster

I guess I read this one a couple years ago but I just now got around to listening to the audiobook. I don’t really remember reading it but I must say I enjoyed listening to this book. The narrator was great. Kept me engaged and played each character perfectly. Book one is a good start to the series. Interested in seeing how Cassidy handles herself once she learns more about exactly what she is.

Story with potential

This story had a lot of potential for me. The author introduced some great creatures and spun a fairly intriguing plot, however there was something missing for me personally. I couldn't quit figure out if it was the writing style, which felt heavy in "telling" versus "showing" the details, or if it was the narrators somewhat monotone reading. The narrator did a good job at voicing the different characters, as well as carrying the external dialogue, but I still found myself wandering away from the story during a lot of the main character's internal dialogue. I would still recommend this book as a decent listen/read for those readers who like paranormal stories.

I received this audio book for free in return for my honest review.

Just finished it in one sitting.
At first im kinda confused about the story plot but as the story roled up its beginning to lighten up though theres still im curious and mystery hang about that i hope will unfold in book 2, i love lucian character i can feel his angst while listening i hope this continue in the next book, what i dont like about cass character was weather shes cleaver or not, she confused me but can carry on with the story goes.
about author writing i think it carry on(its good)how she describe each characters and the surrounding(mostly the surrounding-places)its clear that i can picture it in my mind(imagination)clearly and i loved it💕💙😍.
The narration was also good, it didnt bored me i loved how the narrator give lives to each characters mostly the Rick voice loved it.💙💕

Spellbinding and creative

Monster is definitely creative and powerful. This book is different from any other fantasy book that I have ever read. Trust me Blade has nothing on Cassidy. I love the narration she got perfectly with the book. The storyline went at a smooth rhythm. I was hooked from the very start and will be reading book two.

An Urban Fantasy

The overall story meets the expectations of a typical urban fantasy. The story-line itself was easy to follow and somewhat intriguing, but I very quickly became irritated by the first person POV. Devereux's narration through the more difficult parts of the story was very well done. I feel the protagonist would have been far more unlikable if I were creating her voice in my mind. I definitely recommend the audio version for this story!
