Publisher's Summary

Fans of the Lunar Chronicles, Jennifer Armentrout, and Amy A. Bartol are raving about this new space fantasy from USA Today best-selling Frost Kay!

Fact #257 - Allie Sai should have been named "Unlucky".

It made complete sense that the girl terrified of flying and aliens would be drafted for colonization of an alien planet. Right? Right? In her mind, she had one choice. Desertion. But again...unlucky. She should've known better. A failed escape attempt leaves her chained to an airship chair with nothing but her bag, a vial of her family's super moonshine, and her anxiety for company.

Fact #372 - Sometimes moonshine is not the answer.

Numbing her fear seemed like a brilliant idea - until pirates attack her ship looking for goods of the female variety. Looks like she'll have to save herself, but...unlucky strike three.

Fact #401 - Pirates aren't princes. They're extortionists.

It was just one sip...maybe two.

Moonshine and Aliens

This cover caught my eye first and then I read the description I really wanted to know what would happen because who doesn’t want to immerse themselves in a book with pirates? I liked the main characters although there were a few times where she was just good at something with no background but it worked for the story. There are some cliff hangers at the end of the third book that I really want to know more about. This main character had a nice amount of sass and snark and didn’t let the other races who felt they were stronger push her around. She stood her ground even if that meant dealing with her greatest fear. I wished there was more of the moonshine making stuff but it was still a lot of fun. Made me laugh at points and I want to see what she manages to get herself into next. How will she get out of this mess? I also loves all the difference races the author put in these books and the cultures they had. I definitely want to learn more about each of them even if that means they might try smelling me a lot.

I received this at my request and am leaving an honest review of my own choice.

Whoa!! Major cliffhanger!!

This is a new to me author. The covers caught my attention. I like the narrator Vanessa Moyen. She brings in a certain spunk and I thought she represented the main character Allie well.
The book ends in a major cliffhanger and now I gotta go see if there’s another audiobook available. Gah!
Allie is the main character in this series and she tries to avoid from being drafted which doesn’t work well for her. She ends up being coerced to work for the aliens to come up with a truth serum...is she able to do it? Pick up the series to find out!

Major Cliffhanger

The story is unique and I enjoyed it! I wanted to trust everyone but not quite anyone at the same time. Some parts of it were kind of weird, but I guess visiting alien planets would create strange situations.
As to the narrator- Vanessa is apparently super popular among audiobook fans but she’s not my cup of tea. Shes a bit robotic.

Great series!

I love this series! Allie Sai did everything possible to not leave Earth and her family behind when she is drafted to go to another world. Using her knowledge of her family's moonshine operation, she gets a job as a mixologist. This leads to problems stemming from her arrival and she is coerced into creating a special mixture. I love how the narrator brings these characters to life. I have read the ebooks of this series and enjoyed the audio books so much more.

Sucked in and dying for more!

This was such a wild ride and I loved every second. I can't count how many times I was laughing out loud at something one of them, mostly Allie, said. A genre mix-up that works beautifully combined with a narrator that nails the characters and voices. Definitely recommend this!

LOVED IT!

I absolutely loved how the humor perfectly balanced the more serious and danger/action-filled parts. As well as, how it's brilliantly woven throughout the books with the sass from the MC, Allie.
Even better, is how the characters play off of one another making it all the more enjoyable to listen to.
And Vanessa Moyen was perfectly cast to give Pirates and Mixologists life and Allie the perfect voice for her sass and snark. I seriously can't wait for books 4-6 to be released on audible!

Mixologists and Pirates!

Allie and Jer are the dynamic duo, both underestimated, although Jer has a story she isn't sharing just yet.. Allie's southern manners and charm cut through the differences between herself and all the species of her new home. She makes some powerful friends... But she has been deceived as well and it will take book 4 to see how much... Loved the narrator - very fitting.

Wonderfully Entertaining

WOW, this trio of books is brilliant and definitely leaves you wanting more. It is about the adventures of Allie a gloriously funny and sassy heroine, it had me laughing out loud on the train to work. When I finished I was left feeling that I had just got off a rollercoaster! It is fast paced and the narrator is a joy to listen too.
