Publisher's summary

“Dark, menacing and deliciously suspenseful. Another edge-of-your-seat read from Adam Southward.” (Victoria Selman, author of Blood for Blood)

She has a dangerous gift. They’ll stop at nothing to take it.

A young psychiatric patient disappears from her ward in the dead of night. Eva Jansen’s medical records have been wiped, her history buried. Somebody wanted all trace of her extinguished forever — and fast.

When forensic psychologist Alex Madison is tipped off that Eva possesses an extraordinary ability, he knows he must find her before she falls into the wrong hands. Her dangerous gift has eerie echoes of his previous cases, and he’s convinced there’s a connection to the sinister criminal network he’s been hunting for years.

But Alex is being watched; his family is being followed. And as the search for Eva consumes his mind, it becomes clear that dark forces are determined to keep her for themselves — and keep him off the scent at all costs. With his life in dangerous freefall, can Alex expose the truth before he is silenced for good?

Excellent, As Expected!

SouthWard's latest installment in the "Alex Madison" series didn't disappoint! Southward masterfully ties together the continuing storyline of main characters from earlier in the series, while weaving in Madison's newest find. Bombshell moment takes us beyond skeleton's in Madison's past to hidden motivations in the present. More contemporary than headlines. Excellent fiction! Looking foward to the next book!

Love this series! Psych thriller with action

Really engaging plot with likable but flawed MC and interesting supporting characters. Plot is like an onion and keeps you hooked. Narrator nails the vibe. Hope this series continues!

Got lost in this convoluted mirror

Though the book started out well, and I enjoyed Book 1 in the Alex Madison series, I was disappointed with “Mirror.” As always, Steve West’s narrative skills are spot-on. Dealing with certain subject matters (no spoilers) left me dazed and confused and… bored. All I heard was “Blah-Blah-blah.” I finally fast-forwarded to the end. I’m happy this was 2-for-1 special and I did not waste a cherished credit. As my editor, dear friend and mentor wisely told me in 1979, “If everyone liked the same things, the world would indeed be a boring one.” RIP Dan Di Leo
