Publisher's Summary

In her most personal audiobook yet, popular speaker and best-selling author Sarah Bessey invites us into her long - and sometimes miraculous - road to recovery after a terrible accident and shares how it changed everything she believed about God.

Sarah Bessey was in her sweet spot: a popular author, sought-after speaker and preacher, and an active and engaged mother of four, married to the love of her life. Raised within the Word of Faith and prosperity movements, which declared that obedience to God led to untold blessings, her life seemed to prove the preachers of her childhood were right. Then she was in a car accident with life-shattering consequences, and everything she thought she knew about God and faith was upended.

Weaving together theology and memoir in her trademark narrative style, Sarah tells us the whole story of the car accident that changed her body and ultimately changed her life. The road of healing leads to Rome, where she met the pope (it’s complicated) and encountered the Holy Spirit in the last place she expected. She writes about her miraculous healing, learning to live with chronic pain, and the ways God unexpectedly makes us whole in the midst of suffering. She invites us to a path of knowing God that is filled with ordinary miracles, hope in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, surprising holiness, and other completely reasonable things.

Insightful, profound, and unexpected, Miracles and Other Reasonable Things is a wild, spirit-filled story of what it means to live with both grief and faith in our hands as we wrestle with God.

Unlearning and relearning God is good.

The stories Sarah shares uplift and challenge me. I am no longer allowed to be a "Faith Snob". God uses his children, all of them, to share his love with this broken world.

Story of hope and healing

breathtaking. My cynical heart broke open. It is a combination of theology and storytelling with a splash of preaching , but mostly it's like sitting with a friend on the edge of your seat hearing where they've been after a long separation.

I will listen to the ending of this book again & again!

This is one of those books I had to have in both print and audio. The rich language and inspiring stories are amazing read to me, and this way I can be reminded of these truths even when I can’t sit down to read.

While I was disappointed to not have it read by the author, the narrator does a great job bringing Sarah Bessey’s heartfelt spiritual memoir to life.

If you love great storytelling, this book is for you.
If you love authentic spirituality discussions, this book is for you.
If you have doubts, fears & hopes, this is a book for you.
If you believe in miracles, this book is for you.
If you don’t believe in miracles, this is a book for you too.
And if you are simply in need of a Benediction to bless you daily, this book is for you ... and if you get the audio, you can listen daily!

Her best yet

I would consider the timeliness of this book a reasonable miracle in my own life. Sarah has weaved a story with so much “I gotta write that down” truth that I have to buy the hard cover as well.

life changing

Sometimes I finish an audible book and realize I'm also going to need to buy the print version so I can digest it both ways. This is one of those times. I loved hearing the story because Sarah is a storyteller in the best kind of way. I felt like I was hearing a novel but it is also a memoir but it is also rich in theology...and I also want to read the story so I can slow down and reflect on some of the questions Sarah asks and some of the truths God has been teaching her.

Beautiful story!!

Real, honest, and beautiful story. The narrator did perfectly. She performed every voice and accent. I was worried going into it that the book wasn't read by Sarah Bessey, but I quickly forgot about that!! I definitely recommend this book and this narrator!!!
