Avoid at all costs.

One star across the board. Avoid this book. This is also a test to see if my one star review gets posted. The review headlines do not appear to reflect the comments. Something is fishy when comment after comment dislikes the book but it has perfect ratings.

I was put off right from the LONG legal disclaimer that proclaims this as entertainment and goes on and on like reading a licensing agreement.

I found no value in any of the content and it was painful to make it all the way to the end.

Great book

The Buddha says life is pain. By avoiding this book you can make your life a lot less painful. This book could have been so interesting if the writer spent doing actual research into the subject.

I have understood the importance of meditation, mindfulness and especially in the Buddhist outlook and this definitely helps underscore that tradition of thought.

Excellent

Only made it halfway through this book. The course has a few hours of good material stretched into too many lectures. Slow and often overly elementary.

Awesome listen

The narrator's delivery was extremely irritating and awkward - long , drawn out., and exaggerated. It was a very uncomfortable listen for the first five minutes that I listened to - forget 12+hours.

Good one

I have found his advise the best yet on how to approach and practice meditation. It is a course I have went back to for referencing. Personally I found his body scan mediation the best guided mediation anywhere I have found online. And I have good apps and websites to practice mediation.

What I was looking for. I wanted lessons of beginning ways to meditate. tried two ways to return the book & no help, or response back from Amazon. Even nook and book stores have a return policy.

Why must you add recorded applause between each segment. So annoying. Please consider stopping that faux practice.

Love this

Too much middle Eastern thought, steeped in naturalistic thinking. Just go get yourself a guru. Not for me. I did not want to give it even one star, but they insisted.

History. Practice exercises. Accessible information. Philosophical. All aspects of Buddhism, mindfulness, references to other resources ... very well rounded overview of the topic which ranges from the philosophy to the actual physical practice.

Love it

I found this book helpful as a Mindfulness beginner. However, you need to listen to this book at 1.35x speed at least. I've never heard someone speak so slowly.

I thought it should be some instructions I could follow, but it’s not. Instead of taking advantage of the audio form, it’s just an audio version of a common book. A little disappointed.

I was expecting a secular and scientific elucidation. This course was very conventional and unconstructive.

Great book.

I’ve been meditating nearly every day for a little over 2 years now. This book on mindfulness was very well written and easy to follow. I found the exercises to be helpful. I plan to listen to this book several more times. Thank you Mr Muesse for this great gift..
