A FANTASTIC, FRICTION-FILLED 🌪🔥 5 STAR FOLLOW-UP

Wow you gifted authors and talented narrators, what a fantastic second book in the White Nights Duet this was with its passion, chemistry, relationship conflicts, climactic challenges, drama, suspense and h..h..heat. Which made it pretty much an unstoppable listen for me as I was immediately drawn back into Alex and Kate’s turbulent world. A world where an invisible enemy and danger threatens Kate and Alex’s reaction is to take his precious kitten to his well-guarded home in St. Petersburg Russia.. leaving her home, her job, her Mom and their peaceful harmony behind. And, in this relationship rollercoaster, Alex is determined to protect Kate at any cost, discover who is out to get him and why.. and then make them pay!! However, the web he begins to uncover runs deep, becomes multi-layered and is built to snare so breaking it won’t come cheap.. or without its blood sacrifice. Meanwhile for Kate, and despite trying to fit in, his mansion becomes her prison, his refusal to share news and information about the threats become red flags and his possessive protection becomes obsession rather than love.

And in their world of lust, passion, protection, threats, good and bad secondary characters, love, heady highs and toxic lows these two supremely talented author’s world-building draws you in as you feel every exciting, emotionally conflicted, tense, suspenseful, dramatic, pleasurable and painful move. This dynamic writing duo leave no questions unanswered, no person unaccounted for and no t or i that hasn’t been crossed or dotted in their skilful wrapping up in this couple’s well-deserved HEA Epilogue. However, it was CJ and Sebastian’s dual POV narration that turned their written words into this exciting five star drama-filled audiobook 👏.

Worth a credit? Yes definitely.. and a happy sigh, because now I want to listen to it all over again 🙂.

Ugh

The storyline itself was good. The female lead however was annoying. She was whiny and selfish and at times unbelievably ignorant. She was a double talker as well. You can’t say I understand our lives are in danger from an unknown threat in one breath then complain about your freedom being taken from you in the next. Your freedom is limited BECAUSE of the threat. Ugh.

Alex & Kate are Thrilling and Captivating!

Gah! Anna Zaires and Charmaine Pauls have done it again! Capturing me and making fall in love Alex Volkov! This thrilling conclusion to White Nights Duet was the perfect ending for Alex and Kate’s story. Their chemistry was passionate, sensual, and intense. Kate was practically abducted to Russia lol by Alex in order to protect her from the threats on his life. Alex is dark, overbearing, demanding, and uncompromising when it comes to Kate’s safety. He will do anything to keep her safe. Poor Kate is trying to wrap her head around her new reality and her independent spirit makes it hard to be taken care of by Alex. They had a lot of ups and downs and the under current of suspense made this a fast pace listen. I loved the narration by Sebastian York and CJ Bloom. They were perfectly cast as Alex and Kate. Sebastian captured Alex’s commanding, sensual persona. CJ Bloom’s performance as Kate was undeniable; she brought all of Kates doubts, bravery, and love for Alex to life wonderfully. This story is dark, suspenseful, and steamy. It had me at the edge of my seat a few times. I could not stop listening. There were so may twists and turns I did not see coming. I need more Alex & Kate in my life!!

Suspenseful Conclusion!

This is the second book in the White nights Duet, a Dark Mafia Romance. I read it and loved it. The audiobook version is amazing! Kate and Alex's story continues where the first book left off. Alex is dark, powerful, and obsessively possessive, and dominant. Kate needs protection, but she isn't a damsel in distress. She is smart, strong, and independent. They are opposites attract. Their chemistry is off the charts. There is a lot going on in this installment. The storyline has suspense, action, danger, and secrets revealed. The world building is intricate, and captivating. This is a suspenseful conclusion to this enthralling duet. C.J. Bloom and Sebastian York did a fantastic job with the narration. They are perfect as Kate and Alex. Looking forward to listening to more books written by Anna Zaires and Charmaine Pauls, two of my favorite authors!

Keep You Warm on a Cold Night

This story had everything. Great story line. Great characters. Great love. Great suspense. Kept me up all night long.

It was ok

OK, I have to start by saying I love Anna Zaires. Her other series where life altering. So it hurts me to have to give this one three stars. It’s not that the duet is bad. It’s not. It was just missing that special something the other books had. I just couldn’t get emotionally invested in Alex and Catherine. I also listen to the audiobook… And I found it really annoying how part of the time Alex had a Russian accent and then all of a sudden he didn’t. It was distracting.

Lots of Suspense - So good!

Kate was annoying in this book too but I understood her reluctance with Alex. He took her to Russia for her safety but an ex is putting ideas in her head to try to make Kate leave Alex. The ex wants Alex to marry her and Kate knew this but listened to her anyway. So dumb for such a smart woman. Loved Alex. He is my favorite, followed by Peter, then Nikolai. Anna Zaires and Charmaine Pauls are a great writing duo and did an outstanding job with the two books. I hope they continue to write together. CJ Bloom and Sebastian York were excellent. Sebastian York had a larger role in this book.

Absolutely loved the conclusion to this duet! Alex is…sigh everything I like in a hero/anti-hero. He’s protective, loyal, and does what he need to do to keep his kitten safe even at that cost of her wrath. Kate struggles with her feelings. Alex bulldozed his way into her life and took away her choices and her freedom. With unknown enemies lurking in the shadows he really didn’t have a choice. She does her best to be content locked away in his home in Russia but since she is a strong independent woman she does push back. There is OW drama that added to her questioning Alex’s feelings and of course contributed to a few rash decisions. Overall I’d recommend this duet if you like when the anti-hero is a villain for the heroine and not the villain in her story.

Narration was great! CJ Bloom nailed the accent for me. Sebastian York’s inner monologue was done with no accent but he did use it in the dialogue and for me that was enough.

Enhanced with audio

I read the book prior to audio release. Audio enhances the story because you get to hear how some of the words are pronounced. Of course Sebastian York makes it even better. It was a well written story and enjoy it better with the audio. It is like reading it again for the first time. Charmaine Pauls and Anna Zaires are one of my favorite author duos. Great job!

Audiobook:   Narrators - CJ Bloom and Sebastian York


Oh my gosh!  What a wonderful performance by these narrators!  This duo brought Alex and Kate to life in a way that I never imagined while reading.  They took an AMAZING story and added so much more depth and emotion to it that I couldn’t stop listening!  The danger and drama, all the angst was ratcheted up even more as I listened to Ms. Bloom and Mr. York worked their talent.  With the emotional battle between this hero and heroine, I could literally feel it pulsing through the voices of these narrators.  Such a stunning audio



This was deliciously hot, filled with danger and drama, and heartbreakingly angsty at times.

Not as good as the first book!!

I was disappointed in this book and found myself skipping chapters as it seemed to just drag on and feel from my POV the story didn’t need to be so long. The best thing about this audiobook was the narrators and narration.

I loved this series I listened to it in half a day I just couldn’t put it down and Anna had the right voice Sebastian York so sexy I’m in love Mmmmm xxx

Bit underwhelmed

I guess I was expecting a Julian or Peter style guy so it was a bit cosy for my taste but I did enjoy it
