There is not an equivalent book for understanding of how communism came to Spain for English speakers.
So, if you got your Spanish history lessons from George Orwell and Ernest Hemingway. You gotta remember they were just tourists. They did not have to live in the country they were trying to change and their family was not at risk before or after. No skin in the game.
So, this is a book to balance the common pro-communist understanding of the Spanish civil war. Also, it goes into great detail on how the original killer Pig in Orwell's Animal Farm was Lenin. Orwell tries to say that Lenin and Trotsky were nice guys and it was only Stalin that changed the Soviet Utopia and started killing people. By the time Stalin took over, Lenin had already killed about 20 million people. Men, women, and children.
