As the battle of wills escalates and the moral contradictions multiply, Turner won't be bought and won't be bullied, and when they try to bury him, he rediscovers, during a desperate odyssey to the very brink of death, a long-forgotten truth about himself....

By the time Willocks' tale is finished, 14 men have died, and he shows once again that he is the laureate of the violent thriller.

Excellent Story!

it was worth every minute of listening and the narrator, Peter Noble was absolutely perfect for the beautifully poetic writing style of Tim Willocks.

New to me

I didn’t think this was for me after the first few minutes, then it took off. This new to me author is excellent, the narrator is also excellent. Hard to listen to, not hard to understand the terrible history of that country. Can’t recommend it enough.

One of the best audiobooks I’ve listened to

This really was great both in the narration and the crazy story of retribution and revenge. I highly recommend it. Violent yes but not so that it seems unneeded and unbelievable nor distracting from the storyline.
I would love to see a sequel though this book does wrap up into a very tidy ending. I loved the main character.

Any book by Tim Willocks is well worth reading

I discovered this author many years ago and was immediately caught up with his descriptions, setting the stage so to speak, so you can almost feel the heat of the sun or the smell of sweat, in the scene. This novel was a treat.
