Publisher's summary

Would you risk your life for love?

Rose Clyde lost her girlfriend six months ago in a tragic accident. Since then, she simply goes through the motions, knowing she might be doomed to spend the rest of her life grieving. But when her best friend calls with a strange job offer - working the front desk of an old hotel up the Maine coastline - it's an offer Rose can't refuse. And a chance to restart her life.

But Rose isn't prepared for Kane Sullivan, her new boss. This enigmatic, captivating woman, from their very first meeting, has Rose spellbound. There's something about Kane that seems so familiar...why does Rose feel as if she's seen this lovely, powerful woman before? As the strange old Sullivan Hotel begins to reveal its dark secrets, Rose's life hangs in the balance. But an even greater danger looms: She's falling in love with a vampire.

Meeting Eternity is the first volume in the Sullivan Vampires series. It contains the full first three novellas in the series: Eternal Hotel, Eternal Kiss and Eternal Thief. The Sullivan Vampires is a beautiful, romantic epic that follows the clan of Sullivan vampires and the women who love them.

storyline eh

This story is dragged out. it goes on and on and on. this character lives in her head and it is infuriating. I mean it's like what 7 hours long. 6 hours is just her living in her head. it's dragged out. like yes, we get it Kane is good looking and her voice is awesome and does stuff to you but every. single. time. Kane speaks you don't have to mention it. and go of an a long long tangent about her voice. by the time Kane speaks it's like... was that it?

let me save you 7 hours

****SPOILER ALERT****

Girl was in love, lover dies, best friend says come on, time to move on, so she moves to a different city/ state to work at a hotel. day one, she meets this babe who is a total 10 and we all want her. she has a crazy connection with This broad and we like it. but she almost get killed or does get killed and finds out that all the lesy sexy broads in the hotel are.... vampires (which by the way is totally hot). blah blah blah blah (so much blah). they two find themselves on the beach they kiss but just like that... the dead ex of the hot vamp broad (yeah she also has a dead ex) shows up and welll..... you guessed it.... shit hit the wall. now she is being kicked out of the hotel but the crazy ex dead ex vamp gf. the end.

NOW THE NARRATOR; I got nothing but love for this woman. the way she reads makes me envision her with my last name. she makes this story MORE. but even my sweet Lynn Devereux (remove her last name and insert mine) can't make this less... braggy.

A decent start but not really satisfying

I kind of expected more content for a "three book" volume, but I'll admit I didn't look at the length of the presentation before purchase. I was a bit dissatisfied with how the author spent most of this novel giving me background information on everyone, but it felt like the protagonist never really got anywhere, never really accomplished anything, and never really showed anything which would compel me to be interested in her, while the object of her desire spent most of the book trying to decide if she really was "in love with her hamburger" (the old vampire-human romance joke). The protag just wasn't really *doing* anything except interpreting her environment for the reader.

The author does extremely well in describing her scenes. All the characters felt like individuals, and the atmosphere of the setting was very well portrayed. I was almost actually there, in my head.

The narrator was stunning. I could listen to her read the phone book, and be entertained. Characters sounded different. The sexual tension came through, when it arose. I'll look forward to hearing her narrate again.

I was interested in the story, despite my disinterest in the main character, right up until the end of what is, for all intents, just one full novel's worth of content, and I realized that the only way the protag was going to get anywhere (when the 2nd "three book" volume picked up), was if, once again, Cane--or another vampire--swooped in and saved her from certain unemployment. The protag does not appear capable of fixing her own problems.

I have never liked when authors used the "damsel in distress" as the protag, but maybe that is a turn-on for some readers. I may be unjustly maligning other readers' fantasies wherein they can vicariously be the helpless person who gets miraculously saved and coddled by someone much more powerful. The princess fantasy just doesn't really appeal to me, I guess. :)

The author needs to buy a thesaurus.

if you don't mind all measurements of time being in heartbeats, this book is for you. not to mention the reminding you of the thing she just discribed twice all ready the chapter be for and two pages back. i get that romance novels have a formula but this gets tedious.

Cliffhanger ending BEWARE

Sensual and dark this has a classic romance feel to it. Very breathy and oozes sensuality like nothing I've ever read before...wow is it hot in here? I mean geez I was falling in love with Kane too. This has an old school romance style to it so if your not use to the long breathy scenes of sensuality and attraction then this might be hard to listen through and you will get grumpy at the end because this is only part of the story...ehhh I need the next installment right now! I hate cliffhangers. This author really surprised me I usually have mixed feelings about her other works but this was " brick to my face for doubting" magnificently done. No regrets!

:-)

So far I’m enjoying this storyline. I can’t wait to listen to the next story to this series. I need to know what happen with Rosa and Kaine.

New beginnings

Rose is starting over from devastation. Her long time girlfriend was killed in an accident and Rose is going through the motions of life. Her best friend Gwen pulls her away from everything she knows to start over with a new job on a hotel. What she finds there is not just a job but a soul mate. Kane is undeniably attracted to Rose and visa versa. The rest of Kane’s family may not see Rose as a suitable match though and what they must endure may not be worth it. I liked Rose in the way that I wanted to hold her and tell her things would get better. She has strength even though she doesn’t see it or feel it. Kane is a mystery that needs unraveling. Hopefully in the next two books, we will see more insight into them both.

Great storyline

Great storyline but I don't favor the voice actress who does this audio book. I just think she could have done a better job.

ehhh

This book was not one of my favorites. The Narrator did a good job though, I will look into more books narrated by her. The story was hard to get through and the ending just sucked. If you try this book and enjoy it make sure you have book 4-6 because there is a HUGE cliffhanger at the end of this book.

Loved it.

Rose and Kane together are so freaking hot. I really enjoyed the thought processing of this book. Rose trying to talk herself out of her feelings for Kane until Kane tells her she feels it too. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

I loved listening to Lynn Devereux .

I was hooked from the start, the characters are very well written and you want to know more. You will find each book is well balanced and I was not expecting the ending.

Tease

Essex does sexual tension beautifully and sets the scene for a very intriguing trilogy. Not all mystery is explained enough for my liking and was slightly disappointed in the relationship between protagonist and Best friend, which just seemed a necessary plot movement tool. Doesn’t quite land in my good books, but I did listen to the end, so it got its fangs into me
