Publisher's Summary

A dark force is rising. And only Gray Brooks can sense its power….

For Gray Brooks, death was only the beginning. Once a Marine, his life took a turn for the worst, and he found himself wrapped up in a robbery gone wrong. Shot and left for dead, Gray was revived in the hospital. But he was forever touched by the land of the dead, cursed to see the sinister spirits stalking this realm….

After surviving yet another deadly supernatural encounter, Gray finds himself contacted by a man who desperately needs his help. The man’s daughter lies in a coma, trapped between life and death. And her condition is caused by something not of this earth….

Gray soon realizes a diabolical creature is using the girl as a source of energy, slowly draining her soul dry. And feeding off her life force is only the beginning.

Can Gray stop it before it’s too late?

Or will he end up being the demon's next victim....

I'm on the fence

I'm ok with the storyline. I am interested as Gray battles unknown creatures and dark forces. I'm not sure if it's the voice of the reader or the character but I find that I zone out when the lady with the shop begins to speak. I honestly cannot even remember her name. In the first book I thought perhaps I'm not a "monster" story person . I figured I'd keep reading to see if it became more interesting. I listened to this twice. It didn't help. Let me be clear though, it's NOT the authors. I'm a devoted Scarestreet fan. I just can''t "listen to her".

Another winner in a series

The story keeps on delivering. The monsters are scary and the heroes are fierce. This next in the series will not let you down.

2nd of Series

Enjoy the characters of Gray, Juniper, Reeves and now Melanie. Gray is presently trying to save his friend’s daughter who was taken over by a demon. He helps teaching/training Melanie with her ghost hunting skills so she can help save people from demons and ghosts out to destroy them like Gray. They found the rift in the veil and need to close it but how. Cannot wait for next book Shadows of Death but would like to see more of interactions with ghosts

Awesome book with lots of action!

This is a great book! It has lots of gore and violence, but also a lot of real life stuff, like friendships and things like that. We also learn about some new discoveries, which I kind of wondered about in book one. I highly recommend this book!
