It is amazing how all of these books keep your attention. I highly suggest reading or listening to all of the Little Britches Series.

Aye

My husband grew up reading Ralph Moody books. I had never heard of him. I enjoyed the story so much. However, the reading is somewhat stilted at times, perhaps meant to sound like a child narrating. I could do without the accents applied to the characters, and I’d love a softer “a” and “the” too.

My favorite!

What a great book, hard times with close family working together to create a wonderful life together back in the day when kids cared and worked hard to help family. I loved every word and every minute of listening ti this series and this book is my favorite of the series. Back in simpler times. I wish there were many many more books like this one. Narrator, story and author excellent!

Mary Emma

I enjoyed the entire book. The narrator also is superb. He voice is so homey and soothing. Both he and the writing are outstanding. Ralph Moody was years away from his stories when he wrote, but he captures the voices of young children and teens perfectly. Infeel as though I am right there watching their adventures as they live them. I will probably go back and listen to the entire series again when I finish. I love it!

Swells my heart

This is a wonderful, true story of real life, blessing in the midst of hardship and proof that wholesomeness and strong family ties can bring joy, regardless of your circumstances. Also demonstrates the benefits of hard work brought tears to my eyes on several occasions.
