Publisher's summary

Oil and water. Fire and ice. Terran space marine and rugged alien warrior.

Space marine Lieutenant Jamie Park has a reputation as tough as steel. Just the way she likes it. A horrible childhood and her marine training have forged her into a strong woman, and she's never seen a fight she'd back down from.

Taking on the voracious insectoid Kantos is her focus, even if that means being assigned to the Eon warship Desteron and working with the one arrogant alien warrior who's seen her vulnerable and weak.

Medical Commander Aydin Kann-Ath lives to be the perfect warrior and doctor. All his life, he's worked to restore his family's tarnished honor. He has no room in his life for anything but his work, and that includes a headstrong, battle-hardened Terran who - even when injured - refuses to follow orders.

Yet, every minute he spends with Jamie, she ignites both his temper and his desire, and he can't seem to stay away. With every interaction, Aydin finds himself fascinated by Jamie's courage and spirit, and Jamie finds herself consumed by a fiery attraction that terrifies her.

On a dangerous hunt to find symbiont lifeforms that have been stolen by the Kantos, the pair can't ignore their passionate connection. But the evil Kantos threaten not only their lives, but the fate of the galaxy, unless Jamie and Aydin sacrifice it all to stop them.

Steamy Space Opera w Action & Adventure

This is a “reread” for me. I like the action filled story arc, the world bldg and the kick butt characters. I previously read this series but recently purchased (to try) several EON audiobks on Sale and am both listening some and reading this time through. MARK OF EON is one of my fave in this series. The wrld bldg and action are sweet!
Neither the excessive strong language nor the 3 or so Steamy scenes are as easy to skip in audio, however, so that’s my main complaint. I do enjoy the adventure in this series and will continue with book form. Not sure if I’ll buy the other audios or not yet. Vivienne Leheny does a pretty gd job w narration and voices.

Jamie and Aiden

Jamie can't stand being vulnerable, and she hates anything to do with drugs- even the medical kind, so her dealings with Aiden in medical are quite tumultuous.

When they are tasked with missions to retrieve some stolen helians, each gets a glimpse behind the other's defenses. Love this story and series.

I've read them all!

Anna Hackett doesn't disappoint with the continuing story of humans and Eons. Every book is a story in itself and keeps the reader interested in her alien worlds. I like the way the humans are strong and capable.

Entertaining!

This is the fifth book in the Eon Warriors series, a Sci-Fi Romance. I liked Jamie and Aiden's story. Jamie is strong, independent, smart, and capable. Aiden is handsome and caring. The storyline is entertaining, fast-paced, action packed, and suspenseful, filled with twists and turns. Vivienne Leheny did a great job with the narration. Looking forward to listening to Claim of Eon, the next book in the series.

Don't Want It To End!

This my fifth book in the series and I can't wait for the next and the next one and so on. They really grip your interest and you are cheering for all the good guys and sitting on the edge of you seat to see how they resolve the situation they are in. I think it is driving time well spent!

An Unlikely Pair

Aydin and Jamie are an unlikely pair that turn out to be well suited for one another. Jamie is a space marine lieutenant who doesn’t take crap from anyone. Whereas Aydin is an Eon medical commander/warrior who is a workaholic trying to restore his family’s honor. Both are disillusioned with love but have sizzling chemistry that they attempt to deny!! Their story mimics the modern-day soldier and nurse relationship and allows the reader to identify and understand the challenges that the couple may possibly endure. There are tons of suspenseful, vigorous exploits, and energetic lovemaking!! Vivienne Leheny’s narration was outstanding and showed how skillful she was during her performance of each character!

A little too cookie cutter

This is the fifth book featuring guys and gals who aren’t looking for love. They are all fit and beautiful. Each pair get thrown together in circumstances where they are forced to rely on each other and grudgingly let down their armor, first for lust, then for love. Sure, there are itty bitty tweaks (book 3 features an Earth geek instead of a soldier, the next book features a black Earth man, and there’s one with a silver fox), but it often feels like the same couple, with the same personalities, traveling the exact same path to HEA. Where’s the garrulous Eon warrior? Where’s the earth girl who believes in love at first sight? No accents? How about a tall, lean warrior? A shy, silent soldier? And how is it that these missions don’t involve a whole team where the warriors/soldiers from previous books are present? The previous characters pop in for a moment, but then it’s back to our H/h on missions by themselves.

Ah well, bought on sale, I can forgive the formula. This installment has twice the sizzle-scenes of the last few and takes the kink up a notch. Also, there’s more bugs than in Starship Troopers, but sadly this lacks the book-version’s satire or the movie version’s over the top (and fabulous) cheese.
