Publisher's Summary

There is an epidemic in the male world right now - that of unexpressed purpose and unacknowledged pain. Man UNcivilized will show you how to live your truth and stop running from your past hurts.

Know this: Your pain is valid, you are not broken, and you are certainly not alone. In 2015, I got divorced. And sober. One was like falling down the side of a cliff for a year. The other was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I wrote a book about my divorce (Today I Rise) and took a year of my life to answer these two fundamental questions:

  1. Who the hell am I?
  2. Who the hell am I as a man?

Being in a curious place in my life, it became my mission to speak with other men and find out what they were going through and if they could answer those two questions as well.

What became apparent was this - there is an epidemic of pain in the male culture, and it was killing us, figuratively and literally. It was the foundation upon which we were building addictions, abusive relationships, and mental health challenges.

I wrote Man UNcivilized for you if you are a man or if you want to know exactly how a whole man lives. It’s raw. It’s real. There’s no fluff or spiritual bypassing in this.

I am going to show you a new system of masculinity.

For the past three years, this has been my obsession. Getting men to look at their lives, specifically as men, through a different lens. Through two lenses. The primal and the divine.

Man UNcivilized is the guide for every man and every woman (yes, women buy this at the same rate men do). This book will challenge your civilized paradigm to the core and make you question everything you’ve been taught is true. Cut through the confusion and societal drama. Feel the confidence of knowing others in your life will be safer as you walk among them. Watch your life transform on every level when you stop apologizing for being a man and start walking through your life as an uncivilized man.

If I hear “Yours Truly” again......

For starters, I am not a review type person. However, I must write this one for my fellow modern men. I would say most of this book is basic life knowledge packaged into 2 minute short stories. I highly doubt most men are not already familiar with the advise in this book. I feel like the title is click bait and for marketing purposes. It got my attention so I blame myself for that. The “man uncivilized” title makes no sense at all. It should be retitled to “Your truly- Traver Boehm”. Every short story ended with the author hitting you with his name. The author even spells his name out several times in the book and then again in the ending credits. Man I get it, the author can curse, and tell a good short story about how men should behave in today’s modern world; repackage what men already know and label this “new found behavior” “uncivilized men”. Enjoy my $10 bucks and constructive criticism. Your truly...

Worst book I've ever read/heard

I was interested in learning about a different way to think of masculinity, neither toxic not weak. In theory, this could be an interesting book. In practice, it is juvenile and crude, and little more than a series of pathetic journal entries. I'm tempted to use stronger language, but will leave that to the author, "Trevor, " who drops f-bombs so liberally they lose their meaning or impact. I've never returned a book on audible until now, and was grateful to find it was possible, as the thought of wasting almost $20 on this drivel was sickening. Please, do yourself a favor and find another source for your quest for masculinity.

Traver is delivering new eyes for your journey.

Traver comes across as authentic. My journey has not been as deep as Traver. However, I have been in parallel experiences that are almost exactly the same as he lays out in the book. I felt like he was talking to me more than once,he says the things I only think in the back of my head. Then he lets me know how immature I am for keeping them in the back of my head and not having the guts to be me and speak my mind. I did not even care that several times through my phone, Traver called me out. It was like he was right here with me. I appreciate how he’s able to take antidotes and apply them to the story and or point he is trying to make in a very smooth transition. Always punctuated with a quality in your face statement quickly followed by a little bit of Traver love to close. This cadence in combination with real nuggets of knowledge kept me engaged, twice.
