In Making You Mine...

Knox Bentley never liked the pomp and circumstance that came with being wealthy. His no-strings-attached hookups with Aubrey Stewart, an exquisite and stubbornly independent blonde, are no longer enough for him. They connect on every level, but Aubrey is a fierce businesswoman with a new movie channel on the horizon and no time for much else. She is the deal he can't close, the precious jewel even his billions can't buy. Now that he's back in the States, he's determined to show her that what they have goes beyond the bedroom and finally make her his.

Excellent listen!

I really enjoyed this book!! I'm not usually one to read out of order, but when I had the chance to grab a free copy of this, I knew I needed it! Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke are among my favorite narrators, and they did a fantastic job on this one!

I really enjoyed this story! It was well written and captivated me from the beginning. I loved that while there was definitely a lot of chemistry between these two, there was also a friendship that made their journey completely believable.

I also loved the side characters in this book! I can't wait to go back and read each of the other stories! Definitely an audio worth grabbing!

Narrators are great, book was just okay

I honestly struggled with this book. It's my 2nd time reading a book by this author and I'm obviously in the minority in not really connecting with her books/characters. I usually listen to an audio book in a day or two, but this book took me a week to get through and it was a short book. And it had nothing to do with the narrators - I've listened to many books they've narrated before and have had no issues with either of them (especially Andi Arndt).

I'll start with the good. I loved Knox. He was one of my favorite book boyfriends, that's for sure. Knox has been in love with Aubrey for a couple years, but Aubrey is a career woman who doesn't have time for men, especially not the tempting Knox. They hook up when they're at the same charity events, but that's all they ever are. Until Knox finally makes the decision (again) to change that and so the book starts off with Aubrey having spent the night with him. They're inseparable for a while after that thanks to Knox being smart and keeping her close.

Aubrey does something with making films, I was never quite sure what her occupation was since most of this book was spent explaining how she was looking for a place to film a book written by her best friend. She wants to film at what we'll learn is Knox's family's inn. So he says he 'knows the owners' and can see if he can pull some strings to get her the yes she wants to film there. It was certainly clever, albeit sneaky. He technically didn't lie lol. Once Aubrey is around Knox all the time and gets to see the real Knox, it was inevitable that she'd fall for him. Knox was one of the sweetest and caring heroes I've read about, nothing about him was fake. He did so much for his sister when she needed someone to lean on. He was apparently a sweetheart as a kid as well (the swing story was cute). But he was sort of the black sheep of the family, so things weren't always easy with his family.

Aubrey wasn't my favorite person initially. She was headstrong, yes, but she was incredibly stubborn. Once Knox gets her to his family's inn though, she loosens up and starts to soften a bit. Her caring side comes out and she seems like a real person instead of someone with that fake tough exterior who thinks she doesn't need anyone. By the end I truly liked her.

So why only 3 stars (if I'm being generous)? Honestly, the book just didn't hold my interest. It took me a long time to get into it (at least halfway through). It was okay, but there was nothing remarkable or unique about the book that I'd remember a few months down the road. There were also a couple other things that the author does that I don't like and they seem to be consistent across all her books.

This author writes in 3rd person, which is fine if you're reading the actual book. When listening to a dual-narrator audio book though, it always flows better in 1st person. It just seems weird when a narrator who is portraying a character is speaking about something they're doing and saying their name instead of 'I' - but that's probably just me. I struggled with getting into the book initially because of this.

This is part of a series and I hadn't read any of the books in the series thus far, but since the author says you can read them as a standalone, I went ahead and did that. I wish I hadn't. There are SOOOOOO many secondary characters in this book that it's almost impossible to know all of them or how they connect with the H/h. I had this same complaint with the other book I read by the author before. I feel like I just miss out on so much by not understanding their friendships and connections (the epilogue in this one had an abundance of characters I would have known had I read the rest of the series).

I'm familiar with the "Ladies Who Write" (the real-life group) and didn't realize Ms. Foster was part of that group, but I guess that's why she kept mentioning LWW throughout this book and Aubrey being one of the founders of the sisterhood. I don't remember the other authors including LWW in any of their books though, so it was a bit weird hearing it as a fictional group of women (not necessarily authors) in this book.

Wonderful Story & Narration🎧 Enjoyable & Heartfelt

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Melissa Foster is a gifted author, she creates stories that grab my attention and holds it from start to end. Her characters are realistic and easy to relate to. This book is Knox Bentley and Aubrey Stewart’s story, I am a new comer to the Braden’s & Montgomery’s family but that did not stop me from enjoying this book, since it stands on it’s own. I will definitely be checking out those books as well. Aubrey is a strong and independent business woman, she is focused on her career and is not into romantic commitments. She is happy with the arrangement she has with Knox, a strong and independent businessman, he too is focused on his career, except he is seeing there is more to life that work and money. He wants more from Aubrey but she is resistant but he is a patient man and will do what it takes for her to change her ways. I loved how their story plays out, the chemistry between them is undeniable and smoking hot. There is never a dull moment in this book, with plenty of drama, both relationship and family, some angst, lots of heartfelt moments, some fun ones, sweet ones all leading to a great realization and romance. Melissa Foster, thank you for this great story & the emotional rollercoaster ride.

Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke are talented narrators and voice artist. They did an amazing job portraying the characters, humanizing and including all their emotions in their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen🎧

Starts with a bang!

This one starts out hot and it only gets better from there!

Aubrey and Knox have spectacular chemistry, and everything about them just makes you fall. Their witty banter, their respect for one another and the lives they have built, and their friends and family, all of it is just wonderful. So amazing to read a book where the hero loves and respects the heroine for her strength and success.

In a way that only Melissa Foster can, this book is cute, smart, witty and so incredibly swoony. It's a must-read for anyone who is looking for something fun, filled with love and happiness and of course, the HEA.

Andi and Jason make an incredible pair and bring every inch of this steamy story to life. Just be ready with a fan ;)

Beautiful Story!

This is the fifth book in The Bradens & Montgomerys: Pleasant Hill - Oak Falls, Book 5. Knox and Aubrey's story is beautiful, sweet, and sexy. They are both great characters, and they share a sizzling chemistry. The secondary characters are great and intriguing. The Epilogue is perfect! This is my favorite story by Melissa Foster. Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke did a wonderful job with the narration. I enjoyed it! #AudiobookObsession

Making You Mine hits all the right notes for love.

Arndt and Clarke make beautiful music together. With tender loving care they turn Melissa's battle of hearts into a duet of love.  Knox and Aubrey were already a beautiful heartache.  Foster grabs readers by the heartstrings with an enduring love that at moments reads like a foolish heart, but as always leaves a lasting impression. Making You Mine hits all the right notes for love.

Sweet

This is such a sweet story and I really liked the interaction between Knox and Aubrey, as well as the interaction between these two characters and their family and friends. I don't have too much knowledge about this series, with this being one of the first in the series that I've listened to but I really enjoy the world and especially, the beautiful relationships that seem to be at the crux of the story (both romantic, familial and friendly).

Another thing is that the audiobook is fantastic. I expected that with Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke but they are especially good in this story. Jason Clarke truly has one of the best ranges possible with such great ability to play both male and female characters and Andi Arndt does the same. I loved their narration and they elevated the story to another level.

Enjoyable with good narration

I enjoyed the way that Jason Clarke and Andi Arndt narrated this story, they really brought the story to life.

I did enjoy watching these two dance around each other and the way that they change and grew throughout the book. It was interesting to see the worlds they inhabit and how they coped with each others friends etc.

Beautiful!

Knox and Aubrey have been hooking up for a few years. They met at an event and the connection they felt was strong. Knox is getting tired of just constantly hooking up with Aubrey. He's ready to make their relationship official. He finds that Aubrey is very reluctant and unwilling to move to the next step. Not wanting to let that discourage him, he makes it a point to do everything in his power to win her over.

When I first started reading this, I was like oh here we go. Let's see how fast we can predict this. Should we expect to see this on Hallmark? I found myself being pleasantly surprised. It wasn't a cheesy story at all. It was very well written and wholesome. It's the kind of book that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. It gives you hope on things that seem impossible. I think this is the fifth book in a series. I haven't read the first four books, but if they are just as adorable as this book, I fully plan to.

I know that Aubrey should be this unlikeable person. She refuses to be in a relationship because she's afraid that it will distract her from her business. It's easy to understand her point of view. She has so many successful people in her family. Even though her family is proud of her as she is, she still feels this sense of pressure. It's completely understandable. Knox is just so sweet. He's not perfect by any means, but he's amazing and is completely perfect for Aubrey. I loved both of their families and the people they work with. I wish I could have gotten to know them a bit more.

This book was narrated by Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke. They did a pretty amazing job. I am trying to remember if I have listened to anything else they have done. It's hard to keep track. I do find that I listen to many audiobooks. It seems to increase as time goes on. I can say I'm so impressed with their performance that I'm willing to listen to others that they perform. I would listen to both solo and duo performances from them.

I misjudged this book very horrible. It makes me feel bad. I stuck with it anyways. I'm glad I did. It was a very amazingly short and sweet book. It's wholesome and hilarious. It's hard not to read the book and root for Knox and empathize with Aubrey. I could see this being a very adorable mini-series or movie in the future. I think I should go back and read the first four books.

Knox and Aubrey!

Knox came from a privileged background, but he has forged his own path and is successful in his own right. From the moment that he met Aubrey he was drawn to her in a way that he had never felt before and they have been involved in a casual relationship for the last couple of years. The only catch is that lately he has been wanting more but convincing her may be the biggest challenge of all.

Aubrey is focused on ensuring that the business she created with her best friends is a success and can’t afford to be distracted by any man and that includes Knox. She enjoys the time she spends with him, but she is challenging him every step of the way when he wants to make it something more.

Knox was patient yet determined when it came to showing Aubrey that he wouldn’t stand in the way of her dreams but only wanted to be by her side to share them. Humorous banter, hot chemistry with not only great characters but a great group of secondary characters and all the feels as Aubrey realizes that she really can have it all. I thought the narrators were a great choice as they drew you in and made you feel like you were right there with the characters. 🎧AudiobookObsession🎧

Knox and Aubrey

I loved this second chance romance! Ok I don’t even know if you can call it that.
Aubrey and Knox have had a no relationship “relationship” but when Knox gets feelings for her how will he make her see what they have between them?
I loved the way he worked for it. Truly inspirational and romantic to see.

Sweet Romance

Making You Mine by Melissa Foster is a contemporary romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke.

I absolutely love Melissa’s books! They always leave you with a smile. You can’t help but fall in love with Knox and Aubrey. I can’t wait to read more books from The Bradens and Montgomerys: Pleasant Hill – Oak Falls Series. I love that each book can be read as a standalone.

Andi and Jason did an amazing job on the narration. I can’t wait to listen to more of their projects in the future.

Making You Mine

Such a sweet romance. This relationship definitely was not planned and just snuck up on both of them and it was so fun to watch when it dawned on both of them that they were indeed a couple. The ending was just perfect and let’s us know there will be more to come with this group of characters.

I loved this book, it was wonderfully written and narrated and the story had so much depth and many layers within. A story of love, family tenderness and heat. the characters were wonderful and the narrators brought them to life easily.
I haven't listened to the others in the series and the story was a stand alone one but I definitely want my fill of the others now.

A live story well worth reading!!

If you’ve read, or listened to a Melissa Fosters story’s before, you know that she pays great attention to details in her books. This is no different.

We learn so much about Knox and Aubrey in this story, that you know them! They are good for each other and make each other better... although Aubrey takes some convincing.

I enjoyed this tremendously. Between the story and the narration, I had trouble doing anything that I couldn’t listen while doing!!! I have always loved Melissa Fosters writing, and I love these characters very much!!!
