About this listen

Garion, Belgarath, Polgara, and their companions face new challenges as they continue their quest to retrieve the stolen Orb before it can be delivered to the evil god Torak.

When they reach the mile-high tower of Ctuchik, who has the Orb and whose followers practice Torak's cruel rites of human sacrifice, Belgarath must use all his strength, guile, and sorcery as he faces his most fearsome enemy. Garion's strange powers continue to grow, as he plays an increasingly crucial role in this world's future.

When the narrator is simply reading the text, he is phenomenal. his pacing is wonderful, and he keeps me on the edge of my seat. But he simply cannot do voices. whether it's Barak sounding like he's from the Bronx or Yarblek's Mexican-Irish accent, they just don't work. Even worse, his voices aren't consistent.

Narrator is inconsistent

Brian Wiggins was incredible and actually brought some of my all time favorite characters to life!!! I have been waiting years and years for a decent audio book of The Belgariad and Malloreon series, and this over delivers!!! I am patiently waiting the remaining books and will order them all. Please, please, please continue with the fantastic work. I cannot say enough about the amazing writing and world building of David Eddings, other than to commend the narrator for bringing this story to life!

Absolutely Incredible

Fantastic

This book especially starts to feel like the narrator is getting very comfortable with all the characters idiosyncrasies and they come alive after that

Fantastic voice acting

after reading the books 30 years ago, I'm enjoying listening to them this time while I sew.

Always a classic! Would highly recommend this whole series to anybody, but especially for someone new to the genre.

Loved it!

I absolutely cherish and love the entire series of the books known as The Belgaraid. I probably don’t even know the number of times I’ve read the series over the years, dozens and dozens to be sure. I have read them to my three young sons many times over the years, they would beg me to read them and as they got older we would choose what classical music to listen to quietly in the background. My sons are adults now and continue the tradition with their own families. Such fun and wonderful memories.

Having said all that I am disgusted for true at the narration of this new guy.

1. Why oh why does the voice of Belgarath sound like he’s is speaking in dying breaths?
2. Why does Polgara sound like an inexperienced teenage girl?
3. Why does Silk sound like the previous Ce’Nedra?
4. Why does Ce’Nedra sound like she’s talking twice as fast as everyone else?
5. Why does the narrator speak so fast?

What is a goreem?
What is malloreah?
When did Obama enter?

The horrific narration of the beloved books, the Belgaraid

This book was ruined by the new narrator. I listen to this book a few years ago withCameron Bieles narrating, it was So much better. Very difficult to listen now with the new narrator ruining the characters

How bad the narration is

I’ve loved these books since I was a kid but the audiobook narrator is awful. The strange accents for the voices and bizarre pronunciation of pretty straight forward words made it difficult to listen.

Love the books, terrible narrator.

I thought I was getting the Cameron Beierly narration. Not even close. I'm going back to the public library even if I have to wit weeks

Horrible narrator
