Kate Daniels cleans up the paranormal problems no one else wants to deal with - especially if they involve Atlanta's shapeshifting community.

What we have been waiting for.

I listened to the first 3 books, which were all great. I got a bit frustrated that the two main characters had still not got together. I read the review for the rest of the series so it is no secret that this is the book that proves to be the start of a great thing between Kate and Curren. It is worth a credit - go for it.

There is More Than Skin that Bleeds in This Book

My love for Kate Daniels just keeps getting deeper and deeper. She was taught to be tough and unfeeling as she was growing up. Yet, she's anything but. She can't keep from caring for people and, when she cares, it's bone-deep. Her love even extends to a dog who she adopts after rescuing it. The foe that she battles in this book scares the you know what out of Kate because she know this is the toughest fight she's ever faced. Kate has said foe cornered, TWICE, and is stopped from taking out that foe by someone else on another person's order. Kate is so frustrated, she wants to scream. Her feelings for Curran have also deepened to the point that she can no longer deny them. She tries to, she can't keep from doing so. Kate knows that the instant she gives in to her love for Curran, that a huge target will be placed on him AND the Pack. Because she loves him, she doesn't want that to happen. She was taught that friendship and love tie you down and make you weak. Yet, over time, she's learned that the opposite it true. When you have real friends and real love, it makes you stronger than ever. Kate is forced to do things in this book that break her heart and make her see herself as a monster. Yet, what she does is ultimately compassionate. It also sets the stage for something that will happen in a book later in the series. In the last battle of the book, Curran fights nearly to the death to save Kate, who is finally able to defeat her foe. The cost of this to Curran is that he becomes comatose for 11 days. During that time, Kate is challenged by shapeshifters almost everyday, being forced to prove she has the right to stay by Curran's side. When Curran wakes up and discovers this, he feels like he's been stabbed in the heart. His sense of betrayal by the Pack is very deep and it infuriates him that his mate was challenged while he was helpless to do anything about it. Kate triumphed in every challenge and proved that no one was going to move her from Curran's side for any reason. By the end of the book, Kate and Curran are a solid couple and they are both determined that nothing and no one will come between them. Kate is no longer lonely. She madly in love with Curran and now she has to deal with all that that means. She's fought for the Pack and nearly died for them. Something else very significant happens in the book, but I don't want to spoil anything, so I won't say what that something was. It does have lasting consequences as the saga continues. I cannot recommend this series highly enough! Renee Raudman continues to do a superlative job conveying Kate's emotions, regardless of what that emotion is. Great job and I look forward to listening to the next book!

Family! Am I right?

Great urban fantasy with kick ass women, snark, and action.
At book 4, I am well and truly invested in this series. While the first three set the scene (magic, tech shifting modern day earth with were-animals, vampire navigators, and godlike beings) and developed the main characters, this book busts open the full playing field, setting up the promise of several sprawling storylines for upcoming books.
Among the wider developments is a true introduction to the seven were-clans and the politics of how they weave together, new and complex characters (Aunt Bea is a formidable alpha... gotta love strong women), powerful backstories for Curran and Kate, and, perhaps most importantly, focus of families new (Julie and Curran) and old (Kate’s blood relatives).
I loved the mystery and villains in this book, and the magical slant on biblical tales. Era is a villain I loved to hate.
Of course, my favorite component to Book 4 is the Kate-Curran merger. Finally! The fighting-flirting-fighting dynamic reached a fever pitch here, in hot and hilarious fashion. Loved it. And I love that the banter doesn’t fade after they get together.
And Grendl. Let’s not forget Grendl.

Worth every penny, every credit. You’ll laugh, cry, and wonder what will happen next. I’d write more, but the next book is ready to play.

Magic Bleeds

Book 4 in the series. Will they or wont they? Question is answered in this book and you wont be disappointed! My official review is available on Amazon and Goodreads but for here I'll just say that I love Curran and Kate and the rest of the characters. They just grow on you. Kate has her hands full and a new foe might be her end. Something she's not fought before and seems familiar somehow. Saiman up to something and you'd think he'd just learn but no. He taunted the Beast Lord in the worst way! At Kate's expense.

The best yet

Thank god they finally gave us what we've all been waiting for.

I've read the previous books and this is by far the best in my opinion. Every book has been enjoyable and genuinely good, and the romance was minimal. In a way, I'm glad these books aren't heavy on romance because it gives more time for a strong plot and action and adventure.

But enough was enough. It was time to get the romance going and this book did an amazing job keeping the high quality of interesting plots, characters, and action while FINALLY mingling in romance.

And the best bad guy yet.

Loved the action. Loved the advancing of the main characters plot and internal struggles. Loved it all. 12 out of 5 stars.

Magic Bleeds

Another fast moving story, this time her Aunt pays her a visit, and thing are not as happy as they should be. With Curran wanting their relationship to be more permanent this means a lot of changes in Kate's working life. Lots of highs and lows in this story all read brilliantly again by Renee Raudman.

Absolutely Loving This Series

I am really enjoying this Series. The Characters, the story lines and the Narrator are all superb.

One gripe….I’ve just looked on Audible for Book 5 and I can’t find it anywhere. I can find Book 6 and beyond but, no Book 5. Someone needs to remedy this!!

Urgh. Eye roll.

An utter disappointment. It is hard to believe this is an Illona Andrews book. Predictable. Tedious. Slapstick sitcom.

Endless, pointless fighting. Turn, stab, turn, stab, jump, urgh.

What was probably intended to be witty banter, sounded more like a Muppet radio station that only the undead could listen to.

Dina and Curran played cat and mouse. Calling it a Tom and Jerry cartoon would be too generous. Pointless and it made it incredibly frustrating to read. Page fluff.

The best series ever!

Just when I think the series can not get better … it happens, and it gets even better. And then it happens again, and again. The battle scenes are my absolute favorite in this book. I did not think the series could get better than book 3, but book 4 really is. Dumbfounded. And holy, that narrator is unbelievable good. Someone should raise her a statue. Probably the authors, she takes their master piece even higher. My thanks to all.

Not forgetting, this book has it all.

My favourite series

You can’t beat the Kate Daniels series.
Hands down it is one of the best things I’ve ever read.

I particularly love the narrator. I love how she can do many voices believably.

great story

my only complaint about this series is the narrator. her accents are terrible. it's never a good sign when you can't tell whether someone is trying to do an american impersonation of an Australian accent or a Scottish accent...

5 star story

The story is a fave of mine but I'm not the biggest fan of the narrator. Her voice for some of the characters missed the mark for me and in some instances it sounded like was putting on a bad Asian accent or like she was trying to imitate a deaf persons speech.

Kate & Curran keep getting better & better!

Kate is as endearingly flawed (sword included) & Curran as sardonic and growly as ever. Mr & Mrs Andrews sure know how to worldbuild- Kate’s is richly evocative, dangerous and at times heartbreaking. I love the 2ndary character development as well- Jim less than perfect?! And Derek..! I think a Re-read is in order!

Best one in the series yet :)

Would you listen to Magic Bleeds again? Why?

Yes. I Loved it. Great series

Who was your favorite character and why?

Too many faves to choose from. What a wonderful strong, independent, bada$$ female character Kate is & I love Curran. But the lesser characters are great too. I love Derek, Jim, Andrea & Raphael, Doolitle and cant forget Grendel

Which scene did you most enjoy?

Kate & Curran of course :)

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Definitely laugh. The banter between Kate & Curran is great

Any additional comments?

I think this is the best one yet. Kate is as badass as always, Curran is…. well Curran 😊 ❤ Kate & Curran together are AMAZING!!Add in a super crazy psycho villain, Grendel The Attack Poodle (who I loved) & the rest of this great cast of characters (Derek, Jim, Doolittle, Aunt B, Andrea, Raphael) and you have 5+★
