Great storyline

really enjoyed the development, characters are not over powered like the magic system. I can not wait to read the next one

good adventure

The main character does a lot of growth in this adventure as she discovers betrayal after betrayal. I love her desire to give people a choice even as she was denied one over and over in life. The author also does a great job teasing the romance.

An excellent new sword and sorcery universe

Well, this is a new setting for Kacey's work, and it's an excellent foray into sword and sorcery. The setup is different from what is often done and magical physics are interestingly put together. I hope she continues this as there is a lot of potential in it.

Magical Bonds Dark and Sensual

A new take on magical bonds with a hint of history both darker and more sensual. Magelight brings betrayal, power, and intrigue to the table. It will definitely leave you wanting more.

NOPE

I gave this a shot because of the work she did with Larry Corriea, which I liked. This one, sorry Kacey, I couldn’t get past chapter 5. The main female character was just entirely too whiny and self loathing. “I can’t do this…..I’m not good enough”, etc. Maybe I quit too soon, but I couldn’t see any character growth in the near future. I started having “Wandering Inn” flashbacks. What I mean by that is the two female MC’s in that series are the same whiny self loathing personality that just grinds my nerves into paste. The worst part though, because of Audibles return policy, I didn’t use a credit, so I can’t get my money back.
