A great book - shame about it being abridged

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would strongly urge that an unabridged recording is made available. Not only do I detest abridged books on principle (I never read books skipping pages here and there), but the story becomes very one-dimensional with so much of the story (and so many characters) removed. The real book is a great read.

Would you be willing to try another book from Linda Howard? Why or why not?

Linda Howard is a wonderful author, and I will happily listen to/read any books of hers - in the unabridged version!

What about Nanette Savard’s performance did you like?

Nanette Savard reads the book well - I look forward to her reading the full version.

Was Mackenzie's Mountain worth the listening time?

Yes, but nowhere near as good as the unabridged book. Get the book instead, and wait until somebody starts thinking clearly and commissions the unabridged version for audible!

Narrator Too Sharp, Biting

The story is okay. A typical romantic suspense by Linda Howard. The first of a series. Abridged, so some scenes are left out -- mostly love scenes -- which is fine with me. An unpleasant listening experience. Savard's voice is too sharp. An angry, biting tone permeates too much of the time. It applies to the narrator as well as the character dialogue. Even when a character is supposed to sound contemplative, Savard sounds sharp. Some scenes were okay. I suppose I may be sensitive to sharp tones.

Was disappointed that it was not the unabridged version. The best parts were left out. Great story! Love Linda Howard!

This book should not be abridged!

This is an absolutely wonderful story. It should not be shortened. This should be redone in its entirety! I love the entire Makenzie series!

Terrible performance by a narrator.

Would you try another book from Linda Howard and/or Nanette Savard?

I like Linda Howard but will avoid Nanette Savard.

Never. She over dramatizes everything. She is not good at expressing things in dramatic form without coming off as screaming
