Beautiful Portrait, Punchless Story
Beautifully crafted and performed but the overall story lacked punch and true mystery. If you like wonderful prose that is well crafted or character sketches over plot driven stories than you will love this. If you are all about plot and mystery than you maybe disappointed. The audible performance was great. Listening to it will always a good memory if not an epiphany.

I like sci fi, and the premise sounds intriguing. I’m just not too much into romance in my sci fi novels, so I gave it 3 stars. Others may give it 5 if they like that kind of stuff.

Terrible Performance; could not get into the story
The Performer's cadence and style made this a very difficult book to get through, even when speeding up. I had to listen to this for a book club and these are 5 hours of my life I can never get back. She tries to read the story in a "sensual" way that doesn't make sense for a very serious story about race! Skip this and get the kindle or paper version.
