Widowed, ashamed, and desperate to rebuild her life, Lydia Bennet retreats to a quiet Derbyshire cottage with her two young sons. There, far from society’s whispers, she hopes to gather the pieces of her shattered pride and become someone her family can trust—and someone she can respect.
She does not expect Captain Nathaniel Harcourt.
When the stern, enigmatic soldier unexpectedly enters her life, Lydia is forced to confront feelings she thought she had long buried. As the two navigate misunderstandings, social expectations, and lingering shadows of the past, Lydia must find the courage to stand firm, trusting both her resolve and her heart.
Lydia’s Resolve is a tender, redemptive Regency romance, a story of healing, forgiveness, and the possibility of love after even the deepest heartbreak.

After reading Mary's and Kitty's books in this series I was very curious as to what Lydia's would be like. She was still pretty awful to Kitty in that book and not that much time had passed but it was easy to see Lydia's repentant heart and the growth arc she took over the course of the book. Unfortunately, her past followed her to her next home, provided by Darcy of course. Luckily she has a wonderful neighbor who seems pretty gruff at first. And Lydia does nothing but show her tempestuous side for the first while. But as we learn what walls she has had to build just to hold herself together for her two children, the reader can understand those walls instead of ridiculing her behavior. And we can see that her repentance is real. She truly wants what is best for her children, even over what she might want for herself. Lydia has matured.
Of course, Lydia gets her happily ever after so the reader gets to feel happy for her in the end.
Narration would be much better live but this virtual one is not as bad as some.
