Publisher's Summary

Somebody pushed Shelby Poinsett out her second-floor library window, and it wasn't her husband. At least that's what Charleston's most prestigious law firm wants Liz Talbot to prove. Liz must run the spectrum of Southern society, from the local homeless shelter where Shelby volunteered to the 100-year-old book club where Charleston's genteel ladies are dying to join, to bring a killer to justice.

Light Read--Just What I Need

An enjoyable light read with just enough intrigue and suspense. I look forward to learning more about Colleen, an interesting addition to a murder mystery.

Low Country Book Club is Well Worth a Listen

If you could sum up Lowcountry Book Club in three words, what would they be?

Real Southern Charm

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lowcountry Book Club?

The main character having drinks with the murdered womans neighbours. Any more would give it away.

Which character – as performed by Loretta Rawlins – was your favorite?

The main character was the best.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were a couple of moments that made me laugh very hard.

Any additional comments?

I have read a couple of the Low Country books and they seem to start out slow. The magic is that this seems to be intentional to give the feeling of living in "southern" time. The books draw you in like a glass of sweet tea. Once you've read one you have to read more.

Love this series

Susan Boyer has really hit the ball out of the park with the Liz Talbot mysteries, Each character is well developed. That is something pretty special considering the quirkiness of many of the Characters. You have 2 Private Detectives a Police Chief, and a Police Detective. Add to this a mixture of family, friends, first time acquaintances, and you'll be savoring this delicious cocktail developed by Susan Boyer while being Masterfully delivered by Lorretta Rawlins.

Below Par.

This is one of my all time favorite series I've loved each book including this one ... but not quite as much as the others. The story lacks the creativity of the other books. By now the characters are well known and developed but they were flat and uninteresting in this book.

Another Winner in the Liz Talbot series

There are so many things that I love about the Liz Talbot series that I don't even know where to start. I have listened to the audio version of them all and I think it enhances the experience to hear Loretta Rollins perfect Lowcountry accent as narrator.

These novels are a wonderful blend of mystery, romance, supernatural... with a healthy dose of Charleston's charm, history. and charm mixed in. The characters are simply adorable and authentic.

Thank you, Susan M. Boyer for allowing us another adventure with Liz & Nate.

Addicted

This is one of the best series I have read in a long time. The characters are all well written and I have enjoyed their evolution so far. Being a native of Charleston I particularly love the detail and accuracy of the area that is portrayed in the books. While the island of Stella Maris is fictional, it does certainly read very close to the islands around Mount Pleasant. The accuracy in which the entire Lowcountry is portrayed down to streets, local known people, even street turns and businesses is really fun to read being a local. There was even a part in the last book where she had Liz make a turn off of Highway 17 and into a business and it was the genuine accurate way to get into that business parking lot, it's a real business in that exact location! I realize that's probably more fun for me since I live here but it just shows the detail that Susan Boyer puts into her work. The narration by Loretta Rawlins is equally perfect. The subtle change with inflections and tones that she uses to portray different characters is flawless and adds to the story enjoyment. If I were to find one complaint it's that I really enjoyed the character of Calista from Lowcountry Bombshell and while she did make a brief appearance in the last book I wish that she would become a more prominent character as well. Honestly I kind of wish that she would end up with Blake. That's more of a personal preference though and really it's Susan's fault for making a secondary character so well done! I cannot recommend this series enough!
