Publisher's summary

Colin Campbell had been a champion all his life. Nothing had ever beaten him, not even a drug lord’s bullet. And he approached law school the same way he approached everything in life, with cocky confidence fizzing through his veins like ginger ale. He had it all. He had the looks, the brains, the experience, the know-how and he also had the love of his life at his side. He couldn’t be defeated.

But he hadn’t counted on the gravitas of law school, the reading, the preparation, the cases, the competition, the Socratic Method, the concepts, the grading curve, the expectations, the finals, memos, study groups, outlines...all of it piled and heaped upon those preparing for a career as an attorney until it wasn’t surprising that some of them simply imploded under the weight of it all.

Suddenly Colin was spinning out of control, scrambling to keep up, rarely ever seeing Joshua. His grades slumped as he tried desperately to balance the opposing forces in his life, but his only solution was stretching himself thinner and thinner, until he feared he’d be torn in two. Joshua pleaded with him to slow down, but Colin refused to lighten his load and the path before them grew darker and darker.

They’d been through so much and survived. Would law school be the storm they could not weather? Would it do what a drug lord’s bullet could not - hand Colin Campbell the bitter defeat he never believed he’d have to face?

Or would the man he loved find a way to draw him back from the abyss.

TRUE LOVE, TRIUMPHS AND STRUGGLE

This is the latest journey in the love of Colin and Josh. Their roads have not always been easy but their love for each other never wavers. Their friends David, Nate, Trent and Jeff are always around to lend support. Pass opinions and give it to them straight when they stumble. The love of these friends helps them through some very difficult situations as they move forward. Colin is out to concur law school in the shortest amount of time. He's struggling with his law enforcement choices. Throughout this book he lives with doubts about whether he's making the right choices. Josh is just trying to support and cope with how to do the right thing. Tempers flare, things are said, forgiveness is sometimes hard to find. This book is MAGNIFICENTLY written and the narrative voice of Walker Williams brings it all to life. The pairing of Author Janice Jarrell and Walker Williams is PHENOMENAL. His voice flows like warm honey over the words that are written giving them more meaning and heart. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS AUDIBLE.

Like coming home!

Story: There aren't many series I enjoy about only one couple, but Josh's and Colin's story always feels like coming home. The story is genuine, all the issues raised are contemporary and relevant and the chemistry between those two?! Off the charts!
The books are always very beautifully written, with language and style that makes them magical in every aspect. Janice Jarrell did a great job creating those characters and after all the books they feel like friends! I love visiting them, laughing and crying with them!
In this chapter of their lives Colin fights his ambition and perfectionism yet again. I loved how emotional the story was and how visceral the story felt. I cannot get enough of those two.
Narration: I cannot imagine anyone more perfect for this series! The voices Walker Williams gave to the MCs are their own and there is no way to "unhear" them, once you've heard them. Perfection as always!

Frustrating how emotional I get

10/10 I would read this again and recommend to friends. The writing is so good that sometimes I forget im reading a book and I feel like I'm watching a drama series on Netflix or something. And the characters are so well done that you do feel like they're your friends. If you are familiar with Josh and Collin (and you sound be or else go back and do the other books first) then you know what to expect, Joshua's level headed empathy and Colin's stubborn charm. To me no other book will compare to the Charlottesville scene or the wedding scene in earlier books so I can't say this is my favorite of the series but I promise it's right up there in terms of quality. At times you just wanna yell at josh for being so passive and then you realize his compassion and empathy were the right approach. And sometimes you just wanna smack Collin for being so difficult but then you remember that his big heart is in the right place. You just can't help but love these two and want them to succeed. Joshua is a better man than I for sticking with this marriage with how many bumps it's had. and Collin is insane for taking on so much at once. you end up realizing that they work through REAL LIFE problems in a healthy way and it's interesting and well written. I love that nothing toxic is sensationalized or romanticized. Even if these two are super corny romantic with each other. #couplegoals. I was just so glad when Josh put his foot down at the station and when Collin lost it at his group. And noone worry there's still plenty of romantic and steamy scenes in this book, it's not all just serious life drama. But honestly, thankyou to the author for bringing back romance and making healthy relationships an interesting and ideal relationship goal.

Colin and Joshua

Walker Williams has a great voice, easy to listen too and he does a good job voicing all the characters. Thanks for drawing me into this story.
Janice Jarrell sure can tell a story.
David, Nate, Trent and Jeff, a great support group for Colin and David, and boy did they need it at times. Hopefully, we will see them all in the upcoming books.
Josh and Colin had plenty of trouble and turmoil, just when you think the road is smooth, another bump pops up and shit hits the fan.
Really great start to a new series, Plenty of steaming Hot Love/sex scenes. I look forward to listening to more. Definitely can be listened to as a standalone. Well worth the credit and your time to listen for sure..

Love this!!

Colin and Joshua had been put through the wringer even before their relationship established.

Now that they have tied the knot, they need to maneuver the obstacles in their journey as a married couple.

This was such an amazing listen

The narrator performed an amazing audio delivery and narration.

Definitely recommend

Living characters

It was nice to read a romance about a continuing relationship rather than one just getting established. These two men have already weathered many storms together, but now Colin's determination to conquer law school may just be the straw that breaks the camel's back. While ambition and determination are great qualities, here we see the dark side of that when someone gets too caught up to pay enough attention to a partner and their life together. I loved both these characters and also got incredibly frustrated with both of them at various times just like in previous books. That is because the author makes them so real. They are just like people you know, sometimes you love them and sometimes you don't. My guess is you will find yourself talking to these characters as you go along and trying to give them advice just like you would a good friend you care about. They don't just stay on the page, they get into your head and heart. One reason they feel so alive is the amazing performance of Walker Williams. He knows these guys inside out and so does the listener, thanks to his voicing of them.

I loved the book and I loved the audiobook even mo

I read Love’s Lawyer back in May of 2020 and I loved it. I knew then that the only thing that could make me love it more was if Walker Williams performed the audiobook like he has for the other books that Janice Jarrell has written. I was so happy to get the opportunity to listen to this audiobook. Unless he also does audiobooks under another name, the books for Janice Jarrell are the only ones I can find on Audible that he’s done.

I really can’t say enough good things about Walker’s performance. I love the voices he uses and I love the emotions he puts into the words; he has really made Janice Jarrell’s books even more special than they were when I read them.

Below is what I wrote after I read the book last year.

If you don't like books with lots of hot loving and terms of endearment then you might as well stop reading now. Love's Lawyer is such a great story and it's full of hot sexy time between Josh and Colin.

It's story that was sometimes hard to read as Colin tried to adapt to life as a student and the pressure of law school. He really struggled at times and did not welcome Josh's help when he tried to give it. Colin sets nearly unreasonable standards for himself and it comes close to being his undoing.

Josh tries his best to be supportive but he can only take so much. When things finally come to a head, he has to make Colin understand what he's doing to himself and to them. With the help of their friends, Nate and David things get better.

Love's Lawyer is full of all kinds of feels and it brought me to tears more than once. It ends with John and Colin in a good place but I know there is more to come for these two and I can't wait to read the next book.

A copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author or narrator.

Fantastic story!!

This was my first story by Janice Jarrell I had ever read! This was fantastic getting to listen to it, the narrator brought Josh and Colin's voices to life. It had all the feels, sooo emotional. Colin is a strong overachieving man and is stronger having Joshua at his side. Joshua is a super supportive husband. I loved their story. I could easily listen to this several times. I've now listened to several of Walker Williams narrations and I think each one gets even better than the previous!

Really comes to life

I had read the book before I got the opportunity to hear Walker Williams narrate it. He brings so much to the story. The narration makes the story really come to life. His portrayal of these two gives each a unique personality. This series gives me book hangover when I finish each story. Each story gets more and more intense even though the last story sure was very emotional. This is mainly following Colin’s college experience. Colin being the strong personality and high achiever causes him to makes some bad choices and almost pushes Josh to the limit. I have to admit I’m not sure I can see Colin as an attorney. He is so competitive that I’m not sure what he would do if he lost. I love the song Colin sings for Josh. It’s so easy to picture him singing. After all the situations they and their friends go through I was totally surprised that Colin didn’t sit back for a little while before causing more stress for Josh but the surprise ending causes me to believe his “promises” will keep him in trouble for awhile or forever. I’m also curious to see where Josh will go with his career enhancement.
I just love these characters and the secondary characters. They come alive and are so likable. I like how this author focuses on experiences and doesn’t villainize any of the main or recurring characters. She has a way of making their daily life so emotional in good and bad ways that I can be mad on one page, ready to cry on the next, laugh in a few more pages and swoon as the story goes on.
My only problem is the book gets over before I’m ready. Her writing isn’t fast enough for me….but no one could make a quality story as fast as I wish for the next. I also am so attached to these characters I wonder just how far she can go. Hopefully I will get to see years and years of their lives as they interact with others.

Challenging True Love!

When I hear that there is a new Colin and Josh Audible book my heart does its elated happy dance. I instantly fell in love with these two when I first listened to Janice Jarrell's first book about them. While the books can be read as standalones, don't miss out on this breathtaking love story. These stories deal with contemporary issues that realistically face people in today's world. In this story Colin who has always conquered life's challenges over estimates the difficulties of law school. His biggest battle is admitting this to himself. This proves to be a problem for him mentally and physically as well as for his marriage.I love how the author realistically shows the listener the effects this has on Colin, Josh, and their friends. Josh has the patience of Job. At times I would get frustrated with Josh because he seemed too passive with Colin, but he obviously knows Colin so much better than I do. They both have such wonderful friends to help them. Everyone needs a David and Nate in their corner. There are also several passionate love scenes that will have you feeling so warm inside.

Walker Williams does a phenomenal job of portraying the myriad of emotions that these characters experience. He gives them their own distinctive voices and brings them to life. Walker makes the listener feel part of the story. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS AUDIBLE BOOK FOR YOUR LISTENING PLEASURE. Their love is enduring and endless.
