From the New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis comes anothe STEMinist rom-com in which a scientist is forced to work on a project with her nemesis - with explosive results.

Bee Königswasser lives by a simple code: What would Marie Curie do? If NASA offered her the lead on a neuroengineering project - a literal dream come true - Marie would accept without hesitation. Duh. But the mother of modern physics never had to co-lead with Levi Ward.

Sure, Levi is attractive in a tall, dark, and piercing-eyes kind of way. But Levi made his feelings toward Bee very clear in grad school - archenemies work best employed in their own galaxies far, far away.

But when her equipment starts to go missing and the staff ignore her, Bee could swear she sees Levi softening into an ally, backing her plays, seconding her ideas... devouring her with those eyes. The possibilities have all her neurons firing.

But when it comes time to actually make a move and put her heart on the line, there's only one question that matters: What will Bee Königswasser do?

"Your world is about to be rocked." (Elena Armas, author of The Spanish Love Deception)

"Hopelessly, brilliantly, wonderfully romantic. I loved it even more than The Love Hypothesis, and I didn't think that was possible." (Cressida McLaughlin)

Loved the book, as well as the narration. This was the second book in the series, but somehow, I finished the first and the third books before buying this one. I’d say I loved all three of the books, but my favourite from Ali would still be Check and Mate.

Ali Hazelwood never disappoints!

Listened to 3 of Ali Hazelwoods books back to back. Did not disappoint. I really enjoy the fun, light hearted stories. The quirky wit is also great. Narration has also been great in all the ones I've listened to.

The book is great and entertaining for those who are not looking for sophistication or any emotional roller coasters! Simple, happy and easy to finish.

Very nice and simple

This was one of those books I put off for so long since I already had a mile long list of other books to read first, but I finally got to it and I loved it so much! Bee is very much the embodiment of a smart pixie manic dream girl trope with the quirky sense of humour and alternative style to match.

She essentially gets what she would consider her dream job to work at NASA, unfortunately the main string attached is that she would work with her rival Levi Ward as a collaborator (neuroscience and engineering).

They are very much a sunshine x grumpy, and tall x short tropes, which I love so much. Also the normal miscommunication, which they don't drag on until the end of the book and give the relationship time to develop and they very much are able to build a good solid foundation instead of it just being about passion (which only lasts for so long). I also love the nod to Star Wars (which was also a big thing in The Love Hypothesis, given that it was originally Kylo x Rey fanfiction)

Also being a STEM girly (on the technology side though), it was nice to have a book about a girl that's not in a quirky career and getting some representation.

Finally, Levi 🥰🤭🥺 didn't like him in the beginning (obviously this book is from Bee's POV) but by the middle, I was sold.

Fantastic Read & Narration

It's just as it's predecessor, just in an other setting. No struggling with finishing though. The smutt is not for me, jumped over it all. Great narration, made it real and gave justice for the characters.

Reparativ and predictable plot
