Publisher's Summary

Walk the path of love with one of the warmest, most beloved spiritual leaders of our time and learn how to put faith into action.

As the descendant of slaves and the son of a civil rights activist, Bishop Michael Curry’s life illustrates massive changes in our times. Much of the world met Bishop Curry when he delivered his sermon on the redemptive power of love at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle. Here, he expands on his message of hope in an inspirational road map for living the way of love, illuminated with moving lessons from his own life. Through the prism of his faith, ancestry, and personal journey, Love Is the Way shows us how America came this far and, more important, how to go a whole lot further.

The way of love is essential for addressing the seemingly insurmountable challenges facing the world today: poverty, racism, selfishness, deep ideological divisions, competing claims to speak for God. This audiobook will lead listeners to discover the gifts they need in order to live the way of love: deep reservoirs of hope and resilience, simple wisdom, the discipline of nonviolence, and unshakable regard for human dignity.

Hopeful and grateful

I am a Christian who has often felt like Gandhi when he said, “I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians.” I would clarify it, though, to add, “Those who profess to be Christians but do not love.” This book has been a sweet gift to my battered soul, and I will be giving it as gifts, and recommending it to others. Thank you, Bishop Curry! Please keep preaching about the power of Love, because, as Jimi Hendrix so aptly prophesied, “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” Amen!

Compelling

I first became aware of Bishop Curry recently when he was interviewed on MSNBC. I liked his manner of speech and his message so I looked for his book on Audible hoping that if it was there that it would be narrated by him as well. Oh joy! His folksy speech on the show was different but I have still enjoyed listening to him. I will try to take to heart what he said about not having to like someone in order to pray for them. I have spent a lot of time being angry and frustrated with the current situation and I need to find a way to let it go. I hope this is that way.

What I needed

This book is what I needed at this time in history. It has grounded me and brought me back to love. I have sent this book a few others in my life who have also appreciated it. I believe this message is what we all need when we are ready to hear it. So much gratitude.

Thank you for the deeply powerful reminders

I listened to bishop curry on my way to work as a therapist, I disconnected to my agenda and went on a journey each time I listened. He’s a funny man, insightful and so relatable. I connected to my heritage, social justice and held in the reminders of what we need today. Love and making due! Write another ... it was great !

Walking In Love

Bishop Curry is a humble, wise and caring teacher-preacher. As a bi-racial pastor I find his testimony encourging, for Love is the only reason I am able to continue my walk with Church-folk. Racism abounds; narrow- mindedness rules among those who cannot love neighbors from whom they differ - and our society is the poorer for it. Thank you, Bishop. Your contribution has - and shall continue to remind us about all that is most important as we seek and model a peaceful life pursuing justice, with Divine Love. Tabutne.
