Wonderful and Insightful!
Hearing Diana Butler Bass share her faith journey took me back into my own. Her thoughtful and often humorous account helped me to embrace the Jesuses I have known, the ones I am meeting now and appreciate each and every experience along the way.
The act of “Freeing Jesus” is now a regular part of my personal liturgy!
I will certainly listen again and again!

Sharing so candidly what she didn’t want to share
I admire how Diana wrote about the time in her life that she didn’t want to revisit - when she was an active part of the evangelical world, striving to conform. It gave even greater meaning to the other parts of her spiritual journey.

It felt freeing yet restricted
I really enjoyed the book and the audio performance reading of the book there was just a couple of things that I felt like I was missing or restricted. The development of Jesus the judge. I think the author didn’t centered the theology around Christ’s return as part a book of revelations. Is Jesus the God of judgement or not? Is the question she didn’t address thoroughly.
