Publisher's Summary

A man in search of a courtesan and a woman in search of a ship - and neither will find what they thought they wanted....

Lord George Northmere is tired of his lonely existence and takes the radical decision to go against the ton and society's rules and seek out comfort. But in all his 30 years, he has never met anyone quite like the fiery Italian Miss Florence Capria.

After a riot forces them to take shelter for the night in an intimate small room, can Lord George ignore the growing passion Miss Capria is igniting in his once-cold heart? Will being lost with a lord change Florence's destiny forever?

This is the first in a series of eight Ravishing Regencies.

Excellent audio book!

I like Murdoch's writing style a bunch and the way she develops her characters. So this was no exception for me. I also enjoyed the narrator here. They did an excellent job of adding emotion and life to the characters so I felt I was there listening in on conversations!

Hiding from a mob

I enjoyed George and Florence's story. They meet in unusual circumstances and have to hide from a mob. This story is done as a dialogue between two people. Verity Burns does an excellent job with the voices and brings out their emotions as they talk. Well done and enjoyable to listen too.

Lost no Found

The story was well written to a point, but the ending did not finish with acceptability of society. The only good point is the fourth son doesn't have all the social rules applied to him for marriage that is required for the first born. Florence is a spitfire and knows what she wants, that she wants George to want her to stay. She expects George to act like an Italian and George expects her to understand his English ways. Why do people forget that love is a two way communication? The performance of the audio version is wonderful.

A good start to a new series

A good start to a new series
I originally read the ebook in May 2018 and even though I thought it was a great read which read easily and kept me glued to the pages throughout, the narration by Verity Burns enhances and enriches this story.
I found this book quite different from Emily Murdoch's others and it definitely has more friskiness written into it.
I loved that Florence Capria was such a strong character and ensured that she got what she wanted from George. I guess some guys need a gentle shove in the right direction from time to time (LOL!)
I am quite happy to recommend both the ebook and the audiobook versions which will hold your attention and entertain you too.

Well written and beautiful narrative love story.

It was such fun reading this book while listening to it at the same time. This story is about a young man who decided to go looking for a certain lady of the night, but instead meets someone a bit different. This is a well developed, well written and beautiful narrative love story. It is surprising what one can find on a dark London night. I highly recommend this gem.

Boring and predictable. Too much sex without a good twist or an interesting storyline.

Very boring and predictable. A lot of good steamy sex but the story had no twist and I had a hard time staying awake through it.
