The last Bible torn in two. A people bound by law. A girl in need of grace.
Angelica longs for redemption. Her mother has vanished and Angelica believes it's her fault. But no matter how many sacrifices she brings to the altar, it seems God refuses to forgive her.
Just when Angelica despairs of ever getting it right; God chooses her to go and find the lost New Testament. Is this finally the penance she seeks?
Angelica must journey across the Alaskan wilderness, battle the forces of evil, and venture into the dark city to find absolution.
Or she, and her people will be lost forever.

Cattane's novel draws on those questions and more as it follows an Alaskan Tribe hundreds of years after they were left with just one copy of one-half of the Bible. The Old Testament. Cattane wove together a gut-wrenching tale about broken and lost people desperate with the need for the Lord and Savior, and zero-knowledge that He has already come. Angelica's journey to absolution is the perfect introduction to this series, and I'm eager to see how the rest of the story unfolds.
Lost in the Land of the Midnight Sun, is a delightful Christian adaptation of the popular dystopian genre. Containing the perfect mix of a strong female lead, a deceitful yet all too powerful government, and hope. It combines everything we've come to expect and love in dystopian fiction with strong Christian themes, and a thought-provoking plot. I predict that Cattane's Lost series will inspire other Christian writers to explore similar themes and cause the Christian dystopian genre to explode.
The narration and production of this audiobook are absolutely stunning. I love when a narrator is able to go beyond reading the story and instead bring characters to life with unique and authentic accents. Kimberly Mesceda's narration is incredible, making this one of the best audiobooks I have ever heard. Each character had a specific voice, I never questioned who was speaking because she made the characters instantly recognizable.
I absolutely love this book/audiobook and will listen to the rest of the trilogy the minute each book releases! I also plan to buy a boxed set of the full series as soon as it is available, to read and cherish for years to come.
Incredible, thought-provoking, and beautiful.

Imagine a world were people thought it was best to tear the last Bible into two, and those who got the law part went on to live like the ancient Israelites for 400 years until God himself start revealing to unsuspecting people that they were doing all those sacrifices for nothing. Imagine the stakes in a village were people were easily labeled impure and were sent away as outcasts for lack of animals to kill for their sins and others could be stoned for a yes or a no.
If you were the daughter of the high-priest and you started to see things that no one else could and someone told you to go on a quest in a forbidden land, at the risk of dying (by the hands of your own people) what would be your reaction?
The losses, and the lack of joy and support our main character experiences throughout the book was nerve-wrecking and I found myself naturally cheering for her while she took the leap and made some difficult choices in order to save her village that was living in slavery and herself. It was retable.
Through the book, we see spiritual forces in action front and center, and true colors of fake allies and true heroes as they came together to get back the freedom that was taken from them centuries ago.
The ending left me wanting more; I couldn’t shake the feeling we’d get more action-packed scenes as we now have a two sides clearly opposed to each other, and the rising of a sinister villain and a power-hungry priest. I couldn’t have expected anything short of impactful from this book. It’s really worth listening.
More than just a story. Highly recommend!
