Publisher's Summary

Being alive for millions of years means I'm rarely surprised.

In the long expanse of my existence, I've been rescuing fossils for only a breath. During that time, my path has crossed with many different people—shifter and human alike. Some friendly, some nefarious.

A hundred years ago, one such man graced me with his presence. He was one of the few to have almost killed me.

Imagine my surprise when I see him again, buying the rarest amber fossil to have ever been discovered.

Precious. Beautiful. Unique. A true treasure millions of years in the making.

I won't let him get away again.

Contains mature themes.

Another fun putting with Dino shifters

No, stay with me on this... Potentially immortal beings who have been around since the Primordial Ooze, who slept after the great meteor strike that ended the Cretaceous, to emerge as humans who can still shift into their Cretaceous dino forms. See? Totally plausible! In Maddox's hands, this is done with drama, and liberal doses of humor. As narrated by Kirt Graves, it becones a sexy, snarky delight. Highly recommend the series, both in book and narrated formats.

Another great installment!

4.5

I LOVED this one. The sleuthing, the adventure, and the second chance romance just made another fantastic RELIC story. And if that ending is anything to go by, I need the next book RIGHT FREAKING NOW.

Excellent continuation of the series!

The plot thickens as a rival organisation and their intentions is revealed.
As usual the love story is super sweet and spicy and the characters are lovely and relatable.
We also get a glimpse into the lives of the previous protagonists and I have to say I absolutely love the fact that they've taken up this particular sport!
Very much looking forward to the next one, I am kind of hoping it will be Ruben and a certain somebody!!

Didn’t engage me

I struggled to engage with this book, and my mind kept drifting off. Didn’t feel emotionally connected and wasn’t interested enough to focus and kept having to rewind and listen again.

So good!

I was very excited to see the big bad from Royals story expanded but I feel like I should have loved this story. It's like it was missing the romance a little.
\/ possible reasons for this is maybe a spoiler so warning \/

With the first chapter having them meeting again for the first time in a century, they were kinda already in love at the end of the prologue and the whole book is just them getting the nerve to finally say it out loud. I'm keen to listen again with fresh ears sometime to see if I like it better.
Also a little disappointed with the obvious set up for the next book. In the previous books it's been subtle or at least organic.

Light-hearted and fun dinosaur-shifter romance!

A keen collector, Professor Lance Thomas is in China for an exquisite dinosaur fossil trapped in amber. He’s been entrusted by his team to make the black market trade when his plans are foiled by Liu Yulong, one of the RELIC team. Both dinosaur shifters, Lance (a troodon that looks like a ‘mutated turkey’ LOL) and Yu (a yutyrannus) have met a century before, when Lance shot Yu during another fossil tussle. Luckily Yu doesn’t seem to harbour any hard feelings, only tender ones! When the fossil is stolen by a third party, Lance and Yu must put their professional rivalry aside and team up to get the fossil back. Like the other in the series, this is a light-hearted and fun shifter action-romance. Lance is adorably bumbly and nerdy while Yu is graceful and masterful - it’s a great odd-couple combination. It’s a slow burn with less romance and more chase but no less satisfying! Audio superstar Kirt Graves is always excellent!
