I am only 1/4 way through this book. I had to stop long enough to say how awful the narration is by the author. Her regular voice is fine but her attempts at other voices are distracting and horrible. Most of them sound old and decrepit, or mentally disabled. I'm going to finish the story but with gritted teeth!!

Hire a good narrator

I enjoyed the story written by Amy Shojai. The story was filled with good details, mystery, intrigue, and plenty of twist and turns throughout the story. I love that she included dogs in her story that are trained to find people. This was a well thought of story and I enjoyed it immensely.

I was surprised that the author did the narration as well. She did a magnificent job with the telling of her story. I enjoyed the characters accents, especially Pam's voice. I was able to recognize each character with the distinguishing accents she gave them. She brought this story to life and I would love to hear more stories that she's narrated, even if they're not her own. I received this audio in exchange for an honest review.

The value of life!

Didn't know the writer but she grabbed me from the first chapter! Characters and situations are real life identifiers with me because I have a grandson with autism and totally love and support service animals! Hungry, you ask - what has that got to do with this story? It gave me a craving for more of her books! And I have shared her name , blog and website with friends and family since we are a bunch of diehard readers! Thanks, Amy, for writing stories that draw us in and make us feel we are right there in the snow, the searches and delightful ending!

Any additional comments?

I read the book when it first came out so I didn't know if I would like this version. It turned out I certainly did. Hearing the author read her book gave it a whole new dimension. It is a great story and I am looking forward to the next one. A problem I didn't expect is whether to read it or listen to it. I may do both.

The narrator was terrible. She needs a professional narrator. Voices were not believable at all. The book was excellent the only reason I finished listening to it was the story line. I will read the rest of this series but not listen.

Excellent book

I liked the theme of a lost autistic child.

Has Lost and Found turned you off from other books in this genre?

John Gully, Lakeside CA jonnyvot

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Dog, Man's best friend

Very good story line but too much blithering going on and not much action for me.

It was good but

Without having read or listened to any of Amy Shojai’s books, I binged listened to it. I just could not figure it out! And to see a story from an animal’s point of view was just the twist I needed to believe in Shadow.

Worth the time

I did not care for the narrator trying to do all of the different voices

I have recieved this audiobook in exchange for an unbiased review.

I am very suprised that this audiobook has been hiddden away, I have never heard of the author before.I can see that she has written lots of non fiction books about dog and cat behavior .
So it's rather unusaul that she is able to write such a competant thriller(fiction). Obviously the backgroud story is her field of expertise, and this is very clear throughout the book.

Even if you are not interested in dogs ,or their behavior, this one has a lot more to offer, suspense throughout and an inventive and interesteing plot.

I was a bit dubious when I realised it was the author herself that narrates this book( only because of previous experience- its rare that the author does a good job of narrating books.) but Amy actually does a good job, my only (slight) critisism would be that most of her male voices sound old and croaky, but not so bad that it is annoying or a distraction.
Good Job :-)

great thriller ... dog lover or not
