Publisher's summary

A fresh, hilarious take on the classic Cyrano de Bergerac from USA Today bestselling author Kilby Blades . . .

In today's world filled with terrible dating apps and split-second hot takes, all Zuri Robinson wants is something real. And between her crap job, her family drama, and feeling like she completely missed out on her twenties, she's pretty much done. Her only bright spot is exchanging letters with a ridiculously charming guy in Italy. Only Alessandro Fabricare has a teeeeeny little secret . . .

Nico Fabricare simply wanted to help his brother, Alessandro—who isn't as eloquent with the English language—write a few letters. But with every letter that crosses the Atlantic, Nico is discovering that Zuri might just be the most incredible woman he's ever met . . . except she thinks she's falling in love with his brother.

Now Zuri is on her way to Italy—to meet Alessandro. And Nico is running out of time to win over the girl of his paper dreams before she finds out the truth.

Contains mature themes.

Cute Modern Cinderella

Cinderella meets her Prince in this modern day scenario. A cute story with a somewhat unusual premise. Overall pretty good but a bit too slow moving for me.

I loved the story

I love the build up in romance. For the two people who have been hurt, and learned to forgive what life had done to them.

3 star listen

I went into this one blind, mmc owns a paper company, fmc loves letter writing. They are pen pals.
Narration fits the storyline and female narrator does a good job.
There’s a hea
A bit of angst and past trauma of different backgrounds on both sides.
3 stars, stand alone contemporary romance.

A good romance

I enjoyed this book and it’s twist and turns wondering if the hero and heroine would get past the obstacles put before them. This was a very good read.

Great narrator

The female narrator did a wonderful job with this story and she earned 5 stars for her performance. The story itself was a sweet romance. The main characters felt a little comfortable, almost a little too friendly vs romantic. The romance starts off when they begin writing each other as pen pals. The one thing they have in common is a love of paper and ink. His family actually owns and runs a long standing paper company in Italy. Due to a case of hidden / mistaken identity, we are afforded some drama but the redundant talk of paper products, manufacturing, etc got in the way of the romance of the story. It is definitely not bad but feels a little lacking in the Romance department.

Sweet honesty of caring amidst dishonesty of identity

I didn’t know if I’d like this book. I started then stopped because I wasn’t in the mood for sweet romance. A few weeks later, I popped my earbuds in and discovered the romance of writing, travels, papermaking, and finding your way in this crazy, sometimes hurtful, world.

Most of the characters are rounded and make sense. The setting (s) are well conveyed. And the main characters - she is wonderful and he is such a sweet romantic.

I recommend this. Worth a listen!

🗒 Looks Good on Paper
By: Kilby Blades

🗒Zuri has an obsession with paper. Yes, paper. She becomes a pen pal with a man in Italy and eventually is able to travel overseas, and they plan to meet. The problem. Zuri has been exchanging letters for months with Alessandro, but it has been his brother Nico writing them and falling for her.

💓This was such a cute book. There was a lot going on in the beginning from Zuri's job, gardening, and I was really confused listening to the audio. I thought I skipped a few chapters at first. I eventually saw how it all came together, but it took some time.

🗒Overall, I really liked it, and it was a quick listen. It was interesting learning how paper was made. I also liked how Zuri set boundaries with toxic people in her life and stuck with them.💪

Thank you, Kilby & @valentine_pr_, for my audiocopy!

3 stars

mistaken identity, pen-pals, slow burn romance, Italy, interracial romance, secret identity, miscommunication

This was a cute story but for me, it was not necessarily my cup of tea as it was a bit more on the cliche side and the drama with the miscommunication.
