Publisher's summary

This is the prequel to my Echo Platoon series, a novella introducing my upcoming heroes: U.S. Navy SEALs.

Tyler Rexall never considered being anything besides a Navy SEAL. But a mission-gone-wrong has ended his career in the Teams, leaving Tyler handicapped, his self-identity obliterated. Returning to his hometown of Louisa, Virginia, Tyler wallows in despair. He has no idea that the young woman showing up on his doorstep with a dog holds his future in the palms of her hands.

Katie Crowley's lifelong crush on the formidable "T-Rex" hasn't waned one iota in the last decade. Seeing him beaten down and disabled arouses her determination to help him, even as she's being terrorized by a desperate man who is getting bolder by the day. Can Katie convince a proud man like Tyler to accept that a service dog might change his life? Unfortunately, she may not get the chance or the time to heal him as her heart demands, not when her stalker returns for a final encounter.

Great Start From An Author Who Never Disappoints!!

Where does Look Again rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I enjoyed this audio book a lot. It is in the top 10 audios I have listened to so far. I will listen to it again as it was well written and well preformed.

What other book might you compare Look Again to and why?

Skin Deep by Pamela Clare. The wounded warrior that learns to live and love again.

Which scene was your favorite?

Playing ball with Bronco!!!! LOL

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to this book in one sitting. The narrator was well chosen. He added to the reading of the book with the emotions he entered into his dialog and his impeccable timing.

Any additional comments?

This audible book was given to me for an honest review. I had previously purchased the e-book so I could help contribute to the War Dog foundation.

Quick, Heartwarming, Exciting Romantic Suspense

What made the experience of listening to Look Again the most enjoyable?

It was a combination of the engaging plot, likeable characters and narrator's strong storytelling.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the hero's character growth and friendship with his dog and the heroine's compassion.

Which character – as performed by David Brenin – was your favorite?

Tyler- came alive for me

but he did a good job with the female voice of Katie.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the turning point when Tyler called Katie to apologize and try to start over with her.

Any additional comments?

It's a novella so of course it was short and too the point. I felt it moved to tender feelings quick, but not beyond expectation quick. The epilogue was a nice touch. I was left with a desire for more of the series and a feeling of enjoyment for this story.

Great start!!

This is a novella about a war veteran that is back state side after an accident took his career. He has to move back to his hometown and is bitter and depressed. Then a blast from his past bulldozes her way into his life and makes him realize all is not lost. I can't wait to hear the rest of the series.

Fantastic start to a series!

Fantastic! A thrilling and romantic start to a series.
I have had the ebook version of this sitting unread in my Kindle for a while, and I had no idea what I had been missing! Marliss Melton is as great a writer as any contemporary romance writer today. She is one of my favorites now. This audiobook has sweet romance, a searingly intimate love scene, suspense, action, a vividly adorable dog, a multi-faceted wounded hero, and a smart and strong heroine.
In my opinion, this audiobook is perfect: both perfectly written and perfectly narrated. Every character's voice was exactly right for the story. I was immediately immersed in the audiobook from the first minute listening. The narrator's pacing, accents, and emotion were right on target. This narrator David Brenin rises above just being talented to be a true expert.
Tyler is a Navy SEAL who recently lost his foot during a mission, and he is struggling to come to terms with his physical disability and his PTSD. Tyler is wonderfully honorable, respectful towards women, and also really hot in the bedroom! Katie is tough and intelligent. She also has PTSD from when a man physically (not sexually) attacked her in college. Now it seems that someone new is threatening Katie's safety, but we thankfully know immediately that it is not Tyler. I admire Katie for doing something really positive with her life: training service dogs. Bronco is the vivacious service dog that Katie foists on Tyler in an attempt to help him. I can tell that Marliss Melton really knows and loves dogs, because Bronco's behavior is very realistic.
I was really impressed by this 2.25 hour audiobook, and I plan to listen to the rest of this series. I had previously listened to and loved (5 stars) Book 5 "Never Forget". I recommend this to every fan of contemporary romance. I received a free Audible copy from the author, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Very enjoyable..

This was a nice exciting, sensual novella, about a Navy SEAL who had lost his left foot on an op and was having a few physical and mental problems, until he met Katie. Katie ran a dog kennel that boarded and trained service dogs. Tyler was Katie’s high school crush, although he didn’t know it.

Anyway, it was a good story, with a bad guy trying to get to the money he’d embezzled from his clients, and then got caught, but all the money wasn’t found, so he thought Katie found it in the house he used to own. So, he was stalking her and breaking into her house. I like that there isn’t a whole lot of secret-keeping in novellas, where you just keep wishing they’d tell someone the secret and be done with it already.

There is explicit sex in this and the F-bomb was used 4 times.

As to the narration: David Brenin is a wonderful narrator. His men have really sexy voices and the women sound like women and he reads with terrific emotions.
