Heartwarming, Action Packed Adventure

Fen left behind her pack to confront the family that seemingly abandoned her years ago. Leaving Fen insecure, untrusting and with a big hole inside. Along the way Fen and Hunter team up to save the lives of many Bloodling pups. Their bond grows stronger but Fen still keeps part of herself locked away. Misfortune befalls Fen as she finds herself the prime suspect of a criminal investigation. With danger lurking around every corner Fen has to work quickly to figure out who the real perpetrator is and why they are after her mother before it’s too late.
I liked Lone Wolf better than the first book. Fen’s character grows quite a bit in this part of her journey making me like her so much more than before. I also liked how the relationship develops between Fen and her mother. The ending was just the beginning for Fen and her group. I look forward to continuing their journey in the next book.

Keeps Getting Better!!

I loved the first book but this one was even better. I could not wait to see what would happen in book two and I was not disappointed. I hated to see Fen lose her pack at the end of the first book but was excited to see where things would go with Hunter. I like that Hunter is tough on Fen and kind of forces her to go see her mother. I love how Fen has grown and communicates with her wolf more. I love that Fen and her mother are forming a relationship. It is great to see Fen get her old pack back and her mother using the insurance money to purchase the property so they can all live together as a pack. I cannot wait to see what comes next for them.
Angel Clark did a great job at bringing these characters to life.

Lone Wolf Finding Her Place

I was really curious to see what would happen to Fen after the first book and I am very happy to see how she grows in this book. I loved getting to see her wolf have more of a voice and be more integrated into Fen. I was also happy to meet some new characters and see some from the previous book although there were one or two parts where I wanted to knock some sense into a character. I enjoyed getting to learn more about Fen's past and learn more about Bloodlings. There was a lot of action and it felt like Fen grew up even more in this book. I am happy to see her reconnecting and finding and making her own place in the world. I loo forward to what comes next for this character and had a lot of fun with this story. I enjoy watching the relationship with her mother develop and learning why things happened in Fen's past. I really want to know even more about Hunter's past and see what is in store for these two characters.

Half wolf looking for a place to belong

Fen is trying to put her life back together after splitting from her pack. Hunter, her mate, also leaves her after they've rescued a group of shifters kind of stuck in their wolf form. She's on a mission to locate her long lost mother, only to run in to one danger after another once she finds her.

I didn't like this one as much as I did the first one, but it was a good story. As strong as Fen is as a character, I thought she came across kind of whiny. Her emotions are put thru the wringer, and I know that's why I came up with this impression. She is a great character that faces lots of trials & tribulations, and she does finally except what all fate has thrown at her. This is an easy 4 stars.

Is she really a lone wolf?

I enjoyed book one and was curious to see where book 2 took me. Hunter is gone but in his place is a car with the GPS set for her mother’s house. But will Fen go to her mother? Fen also finds herself in cuffs and being tailed by someone. Hunter may have to face down the man who helped raise him, and will the pack come back to Fen??? These are just some of the many things that we face in this story and I loved the ending of the book but I don’t think that it is going to be all smooth sailing ahead so bring on book 3.
As usual the right narrator helps with an audio book and Ms Easterling certainly chose well with Angel Clark.

Exciting and heartwarming adventure...

This is the second book in the Alpha Underground series, and it is a wonderful, exciting, and engaging installment that will surely capture your attention from start to finish. I enjoyed experiencing Fen’s continued evolution into a more confident and more trusting person/werewolf. Her relationship with her mother is a big part of this story and it was wonderful to see how past grievances were resolved. Her relationship with Hunter also plays a significant role in this story and, happily, it also matures into something with more substance. There is plenty of action, villainy, and intrigue along the way to keep the reader’s interest from waning. New characters are introduced, both werewolf and “one-body” (human) which will hopefully become regulars in this wonderfully entertaining series. I listened to the audio version of this book while reading along with it on my kindle and I think that whichever format you prefer, you will be delighted. It is easy to become so immersed in the story that you sometimes lose patience with the narrator and want her to read faster but that is true of any really good story. I found the narrator’s cadence and inflections somewhat annoying at times (too much emphasis on “I”, “me”, “my”…) but felt that, overall, she did a good job. The violence is not graphic, the language is not foul, the sex scenes are steamy, and the basic story is captivating. Another winning story from this talented and imaginative author. I am very much looking forward to more from this series.

I purchased a copy of this story for my kindle but was gifted a copy of this audiobook from the author and the above is my voluntary and unbiased review.

Packed With Action

Picks up the story from the previous book with Fen now packless and traveling and helping Hunter with his job. Missing her pack and reluctant to commit her heart to her mate, Fen is faced with yet another dilemma - does she try to reconnect with the mother that abandoned her? Learning a bit more about Hunter's past, the choice is ultimately taken from her when Hunter leaves her to force her hand. But Fen has a gift for finding trouble, and the sleepy little town where her mother now lives is no different. Rogue Bloodlings, the chance of discovery of the shifter secret, police investigating threats against her mother, and emotional upheaval all combine to fill this story with lots of action and emotion. Discoveries, secrets, and twists keep you engaged to the story as Fen's story continues. The narrator is easy to listen to and brings a great voice to Fen and her unconventional pack of misfits.

Wow

Wow lots of twists and turns I really wasn’t expecting. I didn’t want to put it down! Fen, Hunter and crew can still find trouble but are getting way better at finding a way out. I think my imagination needs a tune up cause I didn’t see any of that coming!!

Immersive werewolf action, even better than book 1

When half wolf-shifter Fen's mate forces her into making contact with her estranged mother, he proverbial hits the fan very quickly. Her mate's away on duty, her mother gains a stalker, there's a young rogue on the loose, and Fen's soon under suspicion from the town law enforcement. Can she bring the rogue under her wing, discover who bears a grudge against her mother, and stay out of jail - all without letting everyone know there are werewolves in their midst?

As before, Aimee's writing style focuses heavily on the inner thoughts, urges, and byplay between Fen and her submerged inner wolf, and her mental links to her mate and other werewolves, really immersing you in what it might be like to be a two-natured shifter, part human and part animal. And this story is even more engaging than the last. I absolutely loved it!
