Publisher's summary

After dealing with terrorist attacks and an EMP attack on America's infrastructure, Talon finally thought he was on his way home. But the tragic death of one of his team has the rest of the groups morale low and everyone is feeling sorry for themselves. The latest encounter with a terrorist cell has inadvertently bought Talon's group to the attention of the Iranian Supreme Command. Which in turn has declared war on Talon's group and ordered other Iranian assets to hunt down and destroy Talon's group. To make matters worse, Talon is talked into an ill-advised rescue attempt in a trade that should have assisted him in getting back to Texas. The obstacles are adding up against Talon, but he is determined that nothing will stop him from getting home to his family.

Great book

As much as Mr. Carlson is well spoken and articulate, his voice reminds me more of the old west as opposed to TEOTWAWKI fiction. But overall, amazing job!👍

Can't wait for book 3

Thrilling all the way through thoroughly enjoyed it. I think the story is believable with very few bad things to say about the book.

Book 2 has me hooked!!!

It’s my opinion David Williams wanted to write a prepper manual but half way through said this is super dull but if I weave it into a novel I’ll teach people what to do and not do while entertaining them on every level. I’m a fan and can’t wait for “First Steps”. Fun. Informative. Thought provoking.
A great thought exercise.

Thumbs up

I cannot wait for book 3 to release on here. I travel a LOT for work and this series (and a couple other like it) have made 6-8 hour days in the pickup go by so fast.

wonderful book! great narrator!

loved it! I have listened to these 2 books over 3 times now and have learned so much about the gear they use . After reading the authors blog looking for the next book July 2021 we hope if the SHTF doesn't happen so he can finish it without another rewrite! good luck David Wilson!

Good listen

A few missteps here and there but overall a very well sorted story with plausible theories for how things will gone when our system fails.

where is Kevin Pierce when you need him

I really like the story line. Good writing. I'm struggling with the narrator though. I find myself cringing at some of the things he says and how he pronounces things. I understand everyone isn't knowledgeable about everything the narrate, But come on. Book 1 he said 8mm.lol. Not sure how they didn't get caught. He pronounces Crye precision as cry-E.lol. And when he tries to say 5.56 he says pronounces it five 56 and seven 62....Nobody says that. lol. Someone please tell him it's five-five- six and seven- six-two or if you want to be specific it's seven-six-two by 39 for the AK or seven-six-two by 51(.308) for the AR10. It's becoming a huge pet peave.lol. Also I guess weight isn't an issue as apparently they can just pick up everything they find that they want and lug it all over town. This might just be a me thing I guess. I mean a 30 caliber ammo can of 5.56/2.23 weighs about 16 lbs and a 50 caliber can (1200 rounds) weighs 33 lbs. and they just have multiple.lol. Where is Kevin Pierce even you need him and "ounces equal pounds and pounds equal pain"
