Living in Silence was what Cindy Arevalo learned to do from a young age, and the life she lived for too long. But now, Cindy is breaking the silence with her story as a survivor.
In this honest and heartbreaking account, Cindy reveals the torment and abuse she battled in secret, at the hands of one of her teachers. Starting in middle school and spanning over her teen years into young adulthood, the abuse Cindy survived and endured became a source of misery, shame, and guilt in her life. Even after tirelessly distancing herself from her abuser, she still can’t seem to find the freedom she longs for - until the moment comes when she finds her voice and speaks her truth.
At that moment, she hears the words she needed most: "It wasn’t your fault." As Cindy begins to look beyond the haze of shame and distorted truths, she is able to see the unfiltered truth and something else - perhaps even more foreign, hope.
In Living in Silence, Cindy Arevalo shares a story of resilience, courage in the face of evil, and strength where society sees weakness. This is a story many others have unfortunately known and lived before. In breaking the silence, Cindy tells how she found her voice and claimed her freedom, inviting others to do the same and take back control of the life they thought they could never get back.

Powerful story!
Powerful story! Being a mom of two girls myself specifically one of them being 14 years old right now just made me feel so grateful to listen to this entire story and could not help but feel so much empathy for everything Cindy endured.
