very good narration

The narration is quite good. The characters are easily distinguishable and the story is read with emotion. I read this in prep for Geraldine Brook's Pulizer Prize winning book, MARCH, which is narrated from the point of view of the father in Alcott's story, who is at war. Thought I'd benefit from the contrast and character background. Rolled my eyes a lot at Alcott's sweet, sappy preachiness, but she managed to tug my heart strings nonetheless. Glad i trudged through this classic.
