Emmie Marie has a vivid imagination and loves to pretend. Her imagination creates many fun moments, and she wants to share them with other children.

In chapter four, she meets a hummingbird she names Hermie, who is different from all the other hummingbirds. She teaches him it is okay to be different. On their adventure throughout the neighborhood, they meet a little boy who is crying, so they decide to stop and comfort him.
