Publisher's Summary

The unauthorized story of Lululemon.

This is a book about ordinary people who took an opportunity to be creative, to be innovative, and to maximize their potential.

Chip Wilson’s part in this story comes from the learning of thousands of mistakes. He set the culture, business model, quality platform, and people development program and then got out of the way. Lululemon’s exponential growth, culture, and brand strength have few peers, and it is because of those employees who choose to be great.

This book is also about missed opportunity - five years of missed opportunity. Chip was playing to win while the directors of the company he founded were playing not to lose.

A unique perspective.

Very cool story that reminded me of Shoe Dog with more cultural lessons. Very cool that it was also narrated by Chip and his family!

Just a little ego?

Wow, this guy is really something else. Story is written with a very bitter tone. Basically praising the people and culture, but under his breath taking credit for EVERYTHING that worked, and laying blame for every misstep. I enjoyed hearing the story, but the ego of the founder could never fit his pants.

Greatest Story on an Apparel Company

I never knew what Lululemon was nor did I know anything about Chip Wilson. However, I took a chance on this book because all men love to see their lady in those little black stretchy pants. However, long story short this guy Chip is an innovator and this book is raw, very detailed and truthful. Chip didn't hold back any of his punches he told it how it actually happened and how he actually felt about things, be that good or bad. Great Read!!!

Thank you for writing

Chip,
This book was very insightful and a pleasure to read. I found myself getting frustrated at times reading about the company (post IPO) and the way things were run. Also blown away by the choices of new management. Specifically the lack of siding with your opinions on the company and its direction.

Great read and thank you for being so honest 🙏🏻

Amazing book, written by an outstanding visionary leader

Chip opens his heart to tell us not only about his professional experience and success as a leader, but to help younger like minded entrepreneurs and professionals to avoid mistakes he made and bad choices he may have took.

It definitely helped me keep dreaming and putting my effort on creating an outstanding brand that values people and culture.
