Publisher's summary

Perfect for fans of Holly Black, Sarah J. Maas, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Laura Thalassa.

Langwidere has an obsessive habit - collecting heads. She wears a new one each day, changing them out like she does her ivory dresses. But Landwidere doesn’t have the one thing she truly wants: complete power over the territories in Oz. When Lion - the once cowardly fae - shows up at her doorstep, he offers her an opportunity to achieve her desires. Will he use the courage the Wizard gave him to help her succeed, or will he betray her in the process?

Lion is the villainous short story prequel to the Faeries of Oz series.

Intriguing introduction

Lion was a great, short introduction to this series with just a hint of the story and intriguing enough to make you want more.
Audio was well narrated!

Fairies of Oz

Lion (Faeries of Oz) is a villainous short story prequel to the Faeries of Oz series. A new adult fantasy romance that gives you a slice of what's to come. A intriguing beginning and looking forward to listening to the rest of the series. I love fairytale retellings and this one is unique, keeps your ears listening

Naomi Rose-Mock narration was well performed. Her inflection is appealing to listen. You are transported into the story listening from the sidelines.

Loved this so much!!

This book was everything I wanted and more! I loved how short it was and it does this fantastic job at making me want to continue on with the series—which is what every short story prequel should do for a series!

The only thing is, I wish I had MORE Lion! I feel like that the story started off with being about Lion’s decision to help the Wizard, but it ended up being more about Langwidere’s desire to take back her land (and then some)- which is fine, I love her, but I also REALLY really REALLY love Lion and wanted to experience more of his internal conflict.

Can’t wait to read the next in the series!!

Bite-sized Fun

A delicious bit-sized intro to the protagonists of book one of the Fairies of Oz series. This story shows us how Lion and Langwidere teamd up and tosses in a dash of sexy fun to wet your appetite. Sure the story leaves you wanting more, but that's what it's supposed to do... it's a prequel. I loved it and highly recomend this series to anyone who wants a saucy adult version of the Oz they've always loved.

Oz - it's not the story we grew up with

I loved this prequel and can't wait for more!!! it reminded me a little of the movie Return to Oz, but there was so much more to it. It wasn't told from Dorothy's side (she is only mentioned has a reference to the past). I couldn't stop listening to it, but I also wanted to slow down and enjoy it.

I found myself looking at Oz and the Lion differently. The story was very detailed. I went and bought book 1 so I could read more!

The narrator did a great job bringing this story to life.

A dark retelling that you will obsess over

I love fairy tale retellings. Especially when they are on the dark side. Even though this isn't an official fairy tale, it totally fulfilled that. Forget the characters from the wizard of oz you think you know. They aren't the happy go lucky characters just wanting a better life. They are like real people, flawed, but in the most villainous ways at time. We get insight into Lion and his struggles. he definitely wasn't the Lion I remembered. I liked that we were rooting for a villain. And hello dark steamy romance! That was a shocker I enjoyed. This is just a taste of what this series has to offer. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately Unexpected

I have heard great reviews for Tin, so I decided to listen to this 30 minute Prequel to set up the series. I was unfortunately surprised to find that this was not a short story and didn't feel like a prequel to the world but moreso a snippet in an oddly spun Oz world, filled with unlikeable characters and sex. Maybe if you know this going in, you'll be okay with this. I had zero idea I would dislike this brief listen so much. It was dark and uncomfortable with no redeeming qualities.. it's possible it is an introduction to the villains of the series. I don't know and don't think I will find out, unfortunately.
