One year on from the invasion of Earth and the Szuiltans are in control, effectively ruling both Earth and Aks. Martin Lichfield is leader of the largest rebel group on Earth. Steve Drake and Ursa Mirram are on the run on Aks. The traders of Sellit are preparing their navy for war and searching the galaxies for the legendary Miar Shrilor. Humanity is getting ready to fight back, but will it be too late as the Szuiltans show signs of evolving and their President instigates plans for the future survival of the Szuiltan race?

After the capture of Earth this book continues as the humans work to overthrow the alien and their helpers. The plot is a bit confusing at times, but the book holds together well. We see the development of several characters as they are put to the test during combat and we see the relationship between characters grow.

The book has the feel of classic science fiction with the main emphasis being the characters and not the space battles etc.

The narration was good. With multiple voices done well for the various characters.

This book was provided free of charge with the expectation of an honest review.

despite a hard time getting thru the first book, the pace and action of this book2 is much improved, while still a bit predictable, the narration and character development hold the story and listener to the end.

much bettwr than book 1
