Publisher's summary

Werewolves. Witchcraft. Wildlife. It’s all different in the bayou.

A year after Eli and Dag survived their second encounter with a monster, things are finally going well. Really well—as far as Eli is concerned, anyway. He’s lost weight. His energy is up. His hair is on point. There are the little things, like the occasional flare-ups of temper and the urge to murder the kids down the street, but that’s just part of living by teenagers. Right?

But when Posey, a man they met the year before, shows up on their doorstep a few nights before Halloween, everything starts to go wrong. Posey needs their help: his boyfriend has disappeared. Worse, his boyfriend might have committed murder. Oh, and even worse? His boyfriend is a werewolf—a special kind native to Louisiana, known as a rougarou.

Eli and Dag begin their search for the missing rougarou, but it turns out, they’re not the only ones on the hunt: the mob, a gator-man, an implacable monster hunter, a witch, and a few bonus werewolves are all looking for him too. The rougarou, they learn, is the key to a ritual—a ceremony to summon a lwa, a powerful spirit. As time runs out, Eli and Dag must hurry to find the rougarou before the others. If they’re too late, the end of the world might be only the beginning.

Oho! This is we’re the magic all collides!!

So far, this is my favorite in Ashe’s paranormal series!

Eli changes a lot!
Dag starts to find an inner, bossier self (at times).

Evil witches, half-breeds, werewolf, alligator man, and others.

Things finally start to gel together here—the threads Ashe has written through his books seem to wrap and culminate around Dag and Eli.

As always in Gregory Ashe books, plot takes precedence over romance & the romance is never easy. For this reason, the end of this book is really rewarding!

Oh boy! Strap in....

Eli and Dag continue to find monsters in the New Orleans area, or the monsters find them- same difference :P. This time is's a Rougarou, or "werewolf" shifter. Eli has his own issues that are becoming harder to hide and then there are my FAVORITE secondary characters, Dagoberts parents. The laughter I get from Greg's dialogue never ends with those two. i WISH I were as cool as them. This is book 3 so you need to read 1&2. Don't wait get them now!

A good place

Dag and Eli have one more monster to fight while navigating through and dealing with everything that they have been through since they met. Declan Winters was again perfect. I was so happy with the ending, both men standing in a good place

Love seeing Dag and Eli again

Both the book and the narrator are excellent. Really enjoyed seeing Dag and Eli work out their relationship issues while chasing down the latest bayou monsters.
If bayou folklore/supernatural is your thing, you'll love this book.

A fitting conclusion to this trilogy

First things first: I'm not a horror fan. I read this series because I love Greg Ashe's writing, but I do my best to let a lot of the gory details slide on by. What I loved in this book was, of course, the relationship. It's good to see Eli growing and healing, and the end of this book was everything I could have hoped for. With excellent narration, this is a fine addition to the series.

My thanks to the author for a complimentary copy of this audiobook.

Amazing ending

I was so happy to be back in DuPage Parish. The craziness continues but there is a nice conclusion that is absolutely fitting for these two guys. I really enjoyed reading this story but jumped at the chance to listen to it too. Declan Winters does a fabulous job at the narration of the various voices. But I want to take a minute to acknowledge his brilliance around voicing Posey. Amazing. These are always a favorite listen to around Halloween and will continue to come back again and again.

This was another hit. Great story. Great mystery with twists and turns. God Dag's parents are the best. I would read/listen to a novella of just their antics.

Really great fantasy and sweet romance

This is one of my favorite Ashe series. I love the Louisiana fantasy world, which gets richer and more complex in every book. I also love the development of Eli and Dag's relationship. The end is lovely and very suitable for them.

I recommend deeply this series, and the cuent book in particular - which is the best of them all.

The audio book is fantastic, I love especially the narrating of Eli, he sounds exactly like I imagine 😃

Eli and Dag and Changes

Well, I got fed up with Eli’s selfishness and continued obsession with body perfection. Dag is incredibly patient with the man! Lots of action, violence, gore, paranormal creatures and magic in this book. Would have been 5 stars if not for Eli’s emotional self-destructive behavior. Guess I should be more sympathetic.
I recommend all 3 of Gregory Ashe’s DuPage Parish audio books without reservation. I just bought the last book in the series in ebook format. Can’t wait for the audio production!
